Yeah, if you can find someone who would be willing to trade weapons for a small piece of metal.

Never been a problem throughout recorded history.

There's never been a global economic collapse that reset the entire system either. The thought that someone would trade food or ammo for a coin is laughable.

If all printed currencys go south there would be need for easily carried medium of exchange.

Gold worked prior to printed currency and you can fit a small bar "aprox $140,000" in your pants pocket (wear a belt).

However, I agree that a meltdown of our monatary system is overblown. I was around when all the doomsayers sent gold to $800 in the mid 70's.

Eventually, but not at first, IMO. Goods and services would be exchanged for other goods and services. Before there was money, there was a barter system and that's exactly where we would be again if the whole system got reset.

Death,
I started this thread to give heads up to the guys on this forum with regards to protecting their wealth and make some money while doing so. You were speaking previously about a complete melt down as a scenario. I am not under the mindset that that will happen. Obviously I have been right on with my predictions since the start of this thread. But that wasnt a guess. Thats my job to know through research and other avenues. Looking forward. 2011 is the year the general public will start understanding the precious metals markets and they will get in. Silver is at 28.69 as I type this. Silver should break its all time high of 50.00 this year. I believe that by the end of Feb you will see a large spike in the price of Silver while JP Morgan tries to cover some of their massive short positions. Protect your hard earned wealth and get Silver. Let the people you care about know. Its a shame this thread is still in the Political Satire forum.

anyone bought silver bullion online? what's the best site? It seems with markup, shipping costs and iwhen you go back to sell it, you are already in the whole 10%?

apmex and gainsville coins two of the better ones. Markups depend on the type of bar/coin you're buying. But technically starting in the hole 5-10% or so is probably about right.

Of course staying in US dollars means you'll be continuing to dig a deeper hole for yourself.

Thanks, can get a 100 oz silver bar at apmex for 1.09 over spot. With shipping looking at a 4.25 percent markup. Holding off though , got a feeling metals going down after tomorrow night. Probably wrong, but got a feeling.

Huge news in the silver markets. Right now the Comex needs to fill 78,000 contracts for March delivery and they only have the metal to fill 10,000 of those contracts. My sources say the run up in Silver price will start in Feb because India (largest importer of Silver) starts its wedding season and China (2nd Largest) celebrates their New Year where both buy alot of PM's. Then after that we have the aforementioned Comex situation in March. My sources say that we will see the largest of this run between March 11-19th. Right now Silver is sitting at 26.88 per oz. Great buying opportunity. Im contacting hundreds of clients today to let them know this info. Do with this info what you will. Get ready for the ride! BOL....

Interesting times in the silver market. Appears a concerted effort to overwhelm the COMEX for the march delivery might be on. Current open interest would exceed annual silver production. Have to see how many will actually stand for delivery and not roll over their contracts. But just the number involved right now says something. If not March only a matter of time.

http://harveyorgan.blogspot.com/
The total silver comex open interest shook the bankers to no end as the reading today came in at 147,465 for a monstrous gain of 4965 contracts. If you exclude the non economic spreaders who basically left silver a while ago, we are now at record levels. In oz, the open interest represents 737 million oz of silver or greater than 103% of annual silver production.

Im glad you guys got in. Silver is up 38% in the last 6 weeks. We will probably see a small pullback in the market and then off to the races we go again. The general public hasnt even came close to catching on yet. It looks like Geithner is requesting QE3 now and we will be heading that direction and opening up the printing presses yet again. Combined with the fact that Japan holds 886 Billion in U.S. treasuries and will probably have to get rid of it to re build their own country. This will de value the dollar and we are off to the races. I wish things would just get better for our fellow Americans. But the writing is on the wall. Get all the Silver and Palladium you can while it is still cheap. I wont be coming on to this thread any longer since it is still in the Political Satire forum. I feel it is a slap in the face. If you have any questions you can PM me and I will always be glad to help out a fellow RXer. Protect your hard earned wealth and keep your eyes open with regards to what is happening to our great country....

Kind Regards,

Chugg

Congratulations....but "your sources say"? C'mon dude, give me a break!

You really have no clue do ya? Do you think I rely on what the American media tells me to make educated decisions to move millions of dollars in and out of the markets? Anyway, it seems I started this thread to help fellow RX'rs and was right with everything I said. I ended up being bashed alot in this thread for no reason. There is no reason for me to come back here to negative energy....

Never said anything about you relying on American media and I also said congratulations so stop being so sensitive. But when someone starts with the "my sources", the bullshit detector goes off. And your post probably belongs in the financial investment forum.

Its all good Body. But when you work in this field you do have sources outside the country that does give insight to whats really happening in their countries on the geopolitical side. This is one of the factors we use to recommend when our clients take a profit on a high and when to buy back in on a dip. Its part of the business. I read a few of your posts and share the same philosophies with you. I originally posted this inn the financial forum but it got moved here and I feel that is a dis service to the members because who knows how many would have bought Silver when I recommended it at 13.00 if it was in the correct forum. This could have been a great thread in the right forum because alot of guys like Punter really know their stuff. Enjoy the tourney!
