I thought the same thing Kidslick. Matter of fact, I had considered buying Det to win the championship BEFORE that game (at around +3500), and I am still kicking myself for not doing it.
With that said, it will probably surprise you what I'm doing now. With the monumental change in sentiment I am seeing from almost all RX posters on this series after last night, I realize it is now time to switch sides. Remember, picking who you think will win something is not always the same as picking who you will put your money on. I still think Detroit will win this series, but I am putting money on LA. Why? Very simple - value.
Every successful gambler seeks out value, and will put money on events that he thinks are unlikely IF there is enough value in it. That's why I put money on Det to win the championship (at +1050) before the Indy series. And that is now why I'm putting money on LA, who is now at +120 at Oly. Buy low, sell high.
Incidentally, Laker fans should be all over this line. If you were willing to put money on LA before last night at -300, and needing only one road win to take back home court advantage, then why the heck wouldn't you put money on them now at +120, and still needing only one road win?
Remember, no team is bad as they look after getting blown out, and because of the blowout the line has swung way too far to the other side. If LA wins one of the next 2, the line will swing way back to their side, and at that point I'll buy Det back at +200 or so. I see a real good chance of that happening too, since no team has ever swept the middle three games in the finals, if I'm not mistaken. If Det wins the next 2, thats ok too, since I still got them for a lot more at +1050.
