Ummm, forever! That's how long! "Climate change" (the new term being pushed instead of "global warming") is among the biggest scams EVER perpetrated upon the world-wide public! It is a theory and that is all it is. There are as many - or more - scientists who have dis-proven this theory as have proven it. Weather changes...weather patterns change from year to year. There is no such thing as "climate change".

It's amazing how gullible some people are.

But, charlatan Al Gore can fly his jets around the world and the brainless
lemmings suck it all up.

While the ignorant dumb asses in the US think that a warm breeze means that we're experiencing man-made global-warming, Europe is going through
a deadly cold freeze.

Deadly Cold Snap

European Deep Freeze Refuses to Relent

AFP

The cold snap which has held Europe in its grip for over a week has yet to relent. Several countries have reported rising numbers of casualties as a result of the deep freeze. Holland, meanwhile, hopes the cold continues long enough to hold the mythical ice-skating race called Elfstedentocht.

The vicious cold snap which has held Europe in its icy grip for over a week refuses to relent. Ice and snow across northern, eastern and southeastern Europe have left scores of people dead, sent many more to the hospital with hypothermia, created traffic havoc and even left several villages in Bosnia completely cut off from the outside world.

Ukraine has been particularly hard hit, with the country's Ministry of Emergencies announcing this week that the death toll had reached 135 people amid temperatures as low as minus 33 degrees Celsius (minus 27 degrees Fahrenheit). The cold has been deadly in neighboring Poland as well with officials saying 9 people died there over the weekend. Russia has reported 64 deaths in recent days. Deaths have also been reported in other countries across the region, including several in Germany. Temperatures are expected to warm slightly throughout this week, but many now fear that floods could result. Already, Greece and Bulgaria have been hit by high water from the melting snow. On Monday, a dam burst in Bulgaria, causing a wall of water that inundated the village of Bisser, killing eight people.
With snow having stopped for now in the Balkans, officials are trying to clear 20 kilometers of snow-covered roadways to access several remote villages in Bosnia that have been completely cut off. In the meantime, helicopters are being used to ferry out those needing medical attention and fly in supplies.

The earth is being pulled out of it's orbit.

That's why you arent having a conversation with your kids about where the little and big dipper is. because the planet isn't there anymore

As we go closer to the sun I think about the fact that 2011-2012 winter produced hardly any serious snowfall when there is usually quite a bit here in new england

Oh boy...where do I begin...

First of all - the Earth is not being pulled out of its orbit around the Sun. Do you understand why the Earth revolves around the Sun in the first place? In a nutshell - it is due to magnetism and gravity. You can do a quick search on google if you are really interested in it, but basically the Earth hasn't shifted its orbit since the matter that comprises the Earth coalesced to form the planet as we know. I am sure you have heard if we were any closer to we would burn - any further we would freeze - well it is true...and we are held in constant "check" by the magnetic forces inside the Sun and Earth working against each other. The only way we could move out of orbit would be if something with a sufficient force many times greater than that of our sun were to act upon the planet...such as the (eventual) collision of our galaxy with the galaxy Andromeda.

And about the constellations...they are all still there. As a matter of fact I saw both the big and little dipper last night. I don't have the patience to explain it, but there is a huge amount of information on the subject readily available.

Also...we aren't getting any closer to Sun - when the Sun eventually dies the Earth will be burnt to a crisp as the Sun moves through its red giant phase because the Sun will grow much larger, but the orbit of the Earth will still remain unchanged! And they say people from the South are uneducated! I just LOL'ed.

...or that a planet that is several billion years old would have the exact same climate forever. Ice age anyone???

But then again those that deny the climate is changing usually walk lockstep with those who think the universe is 6000 years old.

The warming you feel now is nothing compared to what you'll feel after death.

In the 70's here yesterday.

I don't know how much longer people can continue to deny the climate is changing.

I remember as a kid growing up in Michigan, there was snow on the ground 2-3 months straight in the winter and not having a white Christmas was not a concern. Now it only happens 50% of the time.

LMAO. 3 years ago it was the coldest winter ever around here, followed by the coldest summer. It got down to -20 without wind chill several days, and every summer day was a high in the 70's. But it's a record warm year in 2012 and now Al Gore is proven right in some minds I see. Hahahahahaha.

The republicans were right all along. "gore-Bull warming" is what they said.
They never said the planet earth wasn't getting warmer they were just calling Al Gore out on his B.S

Because the planet earth is getting warmer it's just for reasons Al Gore does not state

ALSportsJunkie I don't know where you are from but I can't see a constellation anywhere. They were visible to the naked eye in the 80's

Light pollution obscures the stars in the night sky for city dwellers, interferes with astronomical observatories, and, like any other form of pollution, disrupts ecosystems and has adverse health effects. Light pollution can be divided into two main types: (1) annoying light that intrudes on an otherwise natural or low-light setting and (2) excessive light (generally indoors) that leads to discomfort and adverse health effects. Since the early 1980s, a global dark-sky movement has emerged, with concerned people campaigning to reduce the amount of light pollution.

Just because you cannot see them does not mean that they are not there.

how about just last winter, Rob ? Huge amounts of snowfall.

Snowfall is remarkably inconsistent....virtually nothing in 2011-12, but a shitload in 2010-11.

You can't judge it with the small sample size of a human lifespan.....and reliable data doesn't really go back hundreds of years.
