This is unreal!!!

We finally had our first snow storm on Sunday, got 6 inches. Today it's 70 degrees. :think2:

We have had maybe 10 cold days all winter.

Personally I like winter, but I cannot say I am hating this 70 degrees working from my deck today...

Unreal. Has to go down as one of the warmest winters in the last century.

It's been great here. My fish tanks in the van have only had a skim of ice on them a few times.

Yeah, it was between 82-88 here today. Lots of records set. Cold front is about to blow through though and it will be in the mid 30s tonight.

In the 70's here yesterday.

I don't know how much longer people can continue to deny the climate is changing.

I remember as a kid growing up in Michigan, there was snow on the ground 2-3 months straight in the winter and not having a white Christmas was not a concern. Now it only happens 50% of the time.

Ummm, forever! That's how long! "Climate change" (the new term being pushed instead of "global warming") is among the biggest scams EVER perpetrated upon the world-wide public! It is a theory and that is all it is. There are as many - or more - scientists who have dis-proven this theory as have proven it. Weather changes...weather patterns change from year to year. There is no such thing as "climate change".

IMO the real reason why this winter has been so mild is because the Sun is in the midst of an 11 year cycle in which it ejects CME'S/ solar flares towards Earth. I am sure some of this heat gets trapped in the atmosphere thus heating it up more than usually in parts of the world.

Let's get down to brass tacks. How much for the ap

...or that a planet that is several billion years old would have the exact same climate forever. Ice age anyone???

But then again those that deny the climate is changing usually walk lockstep with those who think the universe is 6000 years old.

not even 6" much north in Hartford area....but last year was like barreled in with trucks and plows not able to handle it....had to bring in the frontloaders and stuff....this "winter" , you don't even see a pick-up truck with a plow on it on the streets.

huge variance in this snow business. Last year the East coast looked like Colorado, virtually nothing this year !

we had mountains of snow 12' last year on street corners and such , this time last year....now I'm thinking about mowing the lawn !

Of course the climate is changing - it changes every day as it has since well...I guess the beginning of the Earth? Is our pollution making it worse? I don't know - it certainly makes it harder to breath (at least for me) - but I am pretty certain we are not on the way to some unavoidable catastrophe. How long have we been taking accurate readings of temperature and the like? A couple hundred years or so? How long has the Earth been here? Sooo basically we are looking at about a .000000000000001% sample of the entire history of the Earth's weather patterns. In other words - we ain't got a fuckin clue what is coming in the next 100 years. It is fun to bitch about it being hot/cold etc. but until we get a reasonable pool of data to look at I don't see how we can draw conclusions about anything regarding the climate in the long run.

I have to agree with seeing the winter of 2011 vs. the winter of 2012 in New England, amazing difference.

Gamblers like a 1,000 events as a sample size ( or more) if possible......well we ain't gonna get 1,000 winters of verifiable data in Hartford or anywhere else....so you can't evaluate it that way....only in the short term....

When I was a kid ...in the 70's,,,,you could ice skate on ponds and such, now you can't ! Well that needs more evaluation....I have to question if ponds icing over enough to skate on 30-35 years are the norm, or an anomoly ?

I agree the weather this year SEEMS to be an anomaly - but it isn't even the warmest February we have on record. We are still dealing with such a small sample size in the grand scheme of things that it really doesn't matter to look at one year or even a hundred years. Yes, it is hot right now...next year it might be cold...or it might be hotter...does it really matter though? Dramatic climate shifts (i.e. Ice Ages) occur over many thousands of years...not single years. That is what annoys me about climate change/global warming Nazi's. Of course the fucking temperature is changing - it has been changing since the beginning of time and will continue to do so until the Sun goes KA-BOOM!
