Many of us grew up with Walter Cronkite as our source of history being made right before our own eyes.

The best....everyone else admired him and wanted to be him...

Conkite was the originator of the mold that was always thrown away...class fuking act...

Nobody doubted him and government always wanted him on their side, from the President on down...

There will never be a newsman like Walter Cronkite again. Given how delivery of the news has changed, the talent just isn't there anymore. Rather, Jennings, and Brokaw were the last true newsmen from the evening news model, but paled in the shadow of Walter Cronkite and Edward R. Murrown.

Now we have to deal with the clowns on cable news like Oberman and O'Reilly, pretty boys like Anderson Cooper and Brian Williams, and talentless broads like Katie Couric.

in 1968 Cronkite said something that took huge balls on his part. He said the Vietnam war was unwinnable.
After hearing Cronkite, President Johnson reportedly said if i've lost Cronkite i've lost middle America.
