Vic-
I already posted in Sherwood's thread about this. I know you have liked the Flyers for a while, but doesn't it give you pause the way they ended the season.? With a chance for home ice in the first round they couldn't beat the Rangers once in two tries. A;so struggled to beat the Isles who everyone was killing by the end of the season. In fact there were several games down the stretch that I expected Philly to win and they just didn't seem to show up. Don't know what is wrong but I think the Pens will be a confident bunch in that series.

Great information Vic, thanks!

Do you still think Mirage will take dime wagers or should I just stick to the Hilton?

After more thought I'm with you megold. When I considered the matchup last night I found myself using the caveat that I wouldn't take Philly at less than +150. In other words I didn't trust them. The more I thought abut the Pittsburgh Penguins the more I convinced myself how ready this team is. They have it all and the late season additions my not be equal to Marian Hossa but still plug some needed holes. Lastly.....

Stick with the Hilton. Their numbers are identical, limits are high, and you wont need cab fare. ;-)

Tell me how many do?

5Dimes.com is a HUGE book that does. Available for both US and Canadian customers. I wouldnt even bet NHL series wagers if parlays werent an option. Take SJ and DET parlay @ -165 all day long!

lots of luck

I am very surprised you of all people with the info you are aware of are not aware of parlaying series wagers. 5Dimes.com is a rxforum sponsor even. Bet365.com offers them (CAN only). I havent even looked at others but these are two quality books that offer them. I am sure there are others also. Sure there are some "value" so to speak with a few dogs but overall you have to admit there are a few different fav pairings one could match up right? I would have thought you would have been all over them?

One thing I do know. Betting parlays where you still have to lay -165 is not +EV.

I can see them both losing.

Ok but you mean to tell me that will all the favs in the first round you couldnt confidently come up with one parlay of two teams that you feel REALLY GOOD about winning easily?

Under normal circumstances this wold hold true in long term situations but give me a break. You watch these teams day in and day out since October you actually mean to tell me you couldnt throw down heavily on a nice two team fav parlay and feel extremely confident about I highly doubt that.

I don't need to do anything in the playoffs but buy off, (hedge), of futures I have on 12 of the 16 playoff teams.

No matter what happens I've already locked in a profit.

I'm not opposed to making a two team parlay but never would I except one that didn't credit me with more rewadr than I risked. I'm not saying what your doing doesn't have some merit, or else why would so many books NOT offer parlays on series prices, but I go about it in a different manner.

I really think Anaheim can beat San Jose and the -270, (or abouts), price tag on the Sharks is ridiculous.

I wouldn't be shocked if Cbus won as well.

Hey no worries man I know about all your futures so it makes sense for you and GL. However what I am saying is that yes it makes sense to find the value and this and that in daily grind of NHL betting but when it comes to series wagers I have always done quite well with these fav parlays. Best of 7 series the better team more than not rises where as on a random 82 game regular season the better team can lose. Know what Im sayin?

I know last year the favorites came in, on a game by game basis, at a near 90% rate. There was some guy here posting all these -280 wagers for 40-60 units, (whatever that was), and supposedly cleaning up.

If you learned anything about betting hockey this year is that this is not the norm. I could be wrong again this year and see nothing but favorites cover over and over but I know in the long run this is a losing proposition.
