Matt no one will know how many people you have in the room really. I would pay the extra 17 a night to stay at Mandalay over the IP, definitely will be money well spent. As I did point out, that Sunday night will be tough. Many places won't even give you a room, they require guests to stay the full 3 nights of the holiday weekend. I highly suggest you find a way to get in on the 6th if you can unless you really don't mind paying the price in an inflated rate.

As for tourneys, there usually nothing in Vegas that time of year. They always tried at Binions with the Hall of Fame and another at the Four Queens, but they never did that well. Usually the Bike has their big tourney in LA during August and then people in the poker world seem to go on vacation after feasting on the summer tourists at their respective card rooms. Mirage has decent sized daily tournaments Sun-Thur and the Orleans has some of the best low-limit tournaments going anywhere. Don't bother with the Mandalay or Luxor tournaments, they play ridiculously slow when you get a few newbie tourists in the games and even their dead money doesn't make up for much when the prize pool is so small.

Matt: I didn't notice it was Labor day. I was going to suggest IP, it's right in the middle of the strip, sounds like your first stay in Vegas. You won't be spending your time in the room, so that seems a decent choice, never stayed there, but a prime location.

Check out their car museum, you'll get free passes, worth seeing, and quick enough ! Have fun !

Matt- My personal favorite is Tuscany Suites. It's about a half mile east of Bally's on Flamingo Rd. So you're basically on the Strip, and the hotel is sweet. 600 sq ft rooms and a nice set-up. Rooms are dirt cheap, too. Someone referred me there, and I stay there every time. Check it out.

matt24...charlie pete is right the casino royale is right in the middle of it all on the strip...it is a good place to stay...not great by no means....but when your in vegas all you need is a bed with a hot shower...and if gamble their your room will probably be comped...i know many years of staying there when we used to come out 4 or 5 times a year from texas...now the best place to stay for me is in my own bed right here in vegas...just my opinion....jeffksu

Hey you guys,

What kind of action does it take to get full comps at Casino Royale?

Thanks!

But they do offer a free shuttle to the Gold Coast as well as the Barbary Coast.

Aside from the fact that it is at the extreme north end, i never minded staying at the Stratosphere, the price is cheap and the rooms are perfectly fine...Check into that place too

I saw a Cardboard Box on the corner of Nellis and E Owens.

I'll call the boys from "Bum Fights" and get you a discount.

Pete, for the money there getting on the strip I'd throw in a pack of Skittles and let Molly give them a "licky licky."

You can get great deals downtown, but not much else going on down there other than the hotel you are staying at. Palms is happening along with the Hard Rock, although their rooms may be pricey for some.
