Vegas Party, anyone for some golf?

Just saying be careful here for the people come in from moderate climates and will only have a day or two to adjust. The dangerous thing about heat is it seriously affects your judgement; you essentially will never figure out what hit you until it is too late.

IMO it is worth extra to play before 8am, the heat isn't really bad until after lunchtime.

i DONT CARE ABOUT THE EXTRA MONEY TO PLAY EARLY BUT i DO NOT GET UP EARLY IN vEGAS. tHE ONLY WAY i SEE 7 am IS BY STAYING OUT TILL THEN.

Hey Shrink, will you play? Bali Hai would be my first choice also.

WildBill makes a good point in that if you're not used to it, playing in 105-115 degrees may be dangerous. I am an old man, but I am somewhat used to playing in the heat(I don't think you ever get used to it!), but I have on several occasions just quit after 9 holes because it was too hot.

Why not schedule 2 outings, one for thursday afternoon in the extreme heat and another for friday AM before 0800? I will play on thursday (or any) afternoon, I don't like playing mornings either, my old bones don't loosen up that early and I don't beleive we'll be going to bed early.

3 weeks from tomorrow is the Vegas bash. I hope you haven't been ignoring my question, any answer would be appreciated...here it is again!

Several posters have expressed an interest in playing golf. Will you play golf with us? And more importantly, can you ask your friend BW if we can get some kind of special rate to play any of his courses (preferably, Bali Hai)?

Everyone on here thinks you are Santa Claus.

Next thing you know someone will be trying to float in a raft full of people from Haiti to eat at the bash!

Some others have tried to tell you guys. I will be a little more direct.

In August it is absolutely UNBEARABLE to play golf in the afternoon.

Dry heat yes, but a jet engine blowing in your face still stings like hell!

You can find a decent rate, but playing golf in Vegas in the PM in August is worth NOTHING!

Just go piss your money away in the casino and enjoy it.

Maybe you get lucky and win a couple skins.

But in golf you will ruin your day and maybe your whole trip.

PS BW did not get wealthy by taking a bunch of hammerheads to raise!

CedarCreaker, I will pass because of the heat(110 degrees expected high today). Make sure you put sun tan lotion everywhere including your ears. You will be scorched after playing.

...it seems to me like there has been sufficient interest expressed in this and other threads. It doesn't matter to me since I live here anyways, but for posters planning to come to Vegas, I would expect that they would like to know in advance when, where, and especially, how much?

I played yesterday in 110 degrees and it was hot but I'm an old man and I survived. The good news is that the course was wide open....I'd much rather play hot and fast than cool and slow!

If other posters would like to play, I'd ask if they would also ask The Shrink these questions; 1) Will he play with us? and 2) Will he ask his friend, BW, for a special rate for us? Ken must be related to my wife and kids as he ignores my questions.

Oh, and in an earlier post, I stated that Stallion Mountain was in terrible shape....well, I played there last week and it is improving dramatically. Still, the order of BW's 4 Vegas courses would be; Bali Hai, Royal Links (which I won't play because they make you take a forecaddy), Desert Pines, and Stallion Mountain.

Shrink is traveling today, I am not sure if he will play golf himself, but have to beleive he will do what he can to help Rxers get tee-times and decent green fees where ever possible. I promise to bring this up when Srhink is back on-line. Look for something in the thread.
