Hi Varkley, ive been betting 1Q and 1H for the past 20+ years now. You are the 1st reputable person who made a pick on 1Q that ive seen so far. Quick background on me: i book and bet for over 20 years... but the real question is do you know of a site with stats that can tell us how many times a team will DEFER or ACCEPT the opening kickoff? The reason being, that simply put: in 1Q - the more possessions, the more chance to win in just a short period. it's quite possible for opponents to have only 1 to 2 possessions. (ive seen a game where 1 team only had 1 possession the whole 1Q while the other team held the ball for just 2 possessions). Basic example tonight: in 1Q the Jets may have 3 possessions, and Bills may have only 2 possessions. This would make a HUGE impact on the 1Q Outcome. Nothing is ever perfect, but on slower time-management teams, this would play a crucial role and advantage for betting. Needless to say, if your book can still takes 1Q bets, before kickoff, but after the coin-toss, and you already knowing who will get the opening kickoff, this would also greatly lean the odds in the bettor's favor. hence, if we find a stat that already shows the team will ACCEPT of DEFER opening kickoff, we wouldn't have to wait for the coin-toss at all. I have absolutely no idea where to find this. It would be extremely useful info. Let me know if u find anything on this in the future....I'd love to know.
