True but what big-name school will play Utah, espically in Provo.

You've got a point, nobody will play Utah in Provo.

Except for BYU.

Speaking of BYU...remember when they beat Michigan in the Holiday Bowl for the Title? Had to be the weakest champ ever.

The 1984 Champ beat Air Force and Hawaii by 5 points each

If last year's SC team could find a way to stumble along that "down" year for their conference, this year's Utah team will have the same fate. They are a solid team and clearly the best of the MWC, but I don't think they are miles ahead of everyone. They will slip at some point and make this point all moot. Besides 85-1 on a team that not only has to win all games, but then convince the pollsters and computers that they belong, and then beat a top team for the championship...longer odds than 85-1 in my book.

Utah NOT clearly the best in MWC. Dont be suprised to see SDSU win at home vs UTah or at Michigan.

BTW WildBill,

Thousand Oaks won making that 17 of last 28 winners for West in LL.

Utah is better than LSU and Oklahoma without question. Cal, Tenn, Fla state obvioulsy the 3 best teams in the nation.

Good Points. Thanks for sharing.

I say..

If everything was the same right now over 85 trial (years) how many times would Utah win the Orange Bowl?

With this team and with this schedule, I think they would go undefeated around 20-40% of the time (roughly) and out of those years, would probably get to the big game 3-9 times (through polling).

Odds of going undefeated: 30% (26 out of 85 tries)

Odds of getting a shot in the title game if undefeated: (10%-25%) 2.6-6.5 or average (4.6 years out of 85 years)

Odds are pretty close. Hedging in the title game likely to be tough as they should be pretty big ml dogs.

Line has little value.

Rail,

Is it just me or are you getting more combative these days? Utah is CLEARLY the best in the MWC. SDSU looks good too, but they aren't as good as Utah and I don't think you will get many people to say it otherwise. And what the hell does Thousand Oaks have to do with this? Man you are taking this West/East thing too far if you start invoking the kids!

WGD,

confused with another guy, sorry.

Yes I am more combative these days Bill. LSU lost that game and the very corrupt refs had to drum up 2 holding calls in OT, look the other way on a LSU def holding call in OT, and then ignore Rileys timeout call in OT.

Oklahoma program was exposed last year as being 12 points overrated. Big 12 is a joke top to bottom. WSU spit in Texas face at holiday bowl.

Everything in the media is a fat lie. Its called good ole boy network. Thats why scumbags from Brown get hired at ESPN. Its why scunbag coaches like Curry and Gottfreid can SPEW their utter garbage on air for 60 minutes every Saturday.

Its why highschool Science teachers can brain wash our Children. Its why you can you can have 5 consecutive BABY KILLERS speak at the Republican convention.

ITS why EVERY 20 yr old kid has a Monster truck and drives 30 mph over the speed limit.

West Coast is not exepmt either. MAtt Lineart and Carson Palmer both SUCK.

If it was up to me I would BAN alcholo and tobacco. I would also make Profanity a fine.

The Pacific Rim and Europe is a COMPLETE and UNINHABITABLE SEWER thanks to TOBBACO COMPANYS.

My son plays for Utah. He tells us that there is no way they could beat a team like USC.

I believe Bowden had it best when he said: "Nothing short of divine intervention will get them to the Orange Bowl but even that won't be enough".
