Urban Meyer is a fuking genius for being able to keep all 3 of his QB's in camp. Right now he is straight pistol whipping every coach in the game.

And this is exactly why UF fans can't stand the guy. "I need to 'retire'....my health is too bad to coach anymore...." What a lying joke that was. If he wanted to quit....just quit. Don't make up some bullshit excuse. His quote to Will Muschamp is another reason, "The program is broken". Boy, he wasn't kidding! He won 2 NC's and most Gator fans hate the guy! But he is a hell of a football coach...

Yeah, let the TCU coach win it all this year and he will be the new "slice bread" for awhile. There are some really good coaches
in college football these days but I believe Saban and Meyer are a notch above the rest.

No doubt about it. And #3 isn't even close (imo, #3 is Jimbo Fisher).

....continuing on with Beck.....Tim Beck is from Ohio....another Youngstown connection, seems fitting that he's found his way home. He is actually a pretty good recruiter with strong connections in Texas. But the pertinent thing to get from him in this thread isn't the troll job trying to link him to former legacy coaches at NU because there is ZERO connection to Tom Osborne, much less Devaney, rather it's that he became a first time OC at Nebraska under a decent head coach (but FAR from great). Perhaps, Meyer's greatness rubs off. Beck has coached under Mangino at Kansas then went to Nebraska where he became OC right at the B12 to B10 transition. The fact that Nebraska never had any identity may have to do with Pelini structuring all of his practices around the defense and so perhaps Tim Beck's "mutt offense" (yes, think of that street dog that you have no clue what breed it is) never could get into the gear it wanted. It can be a nightmare to plan for, but as we saw it during 4 years, it also often leaves it's own plays less than 'masters' of it. The sample size is small, but go watch the Nebraska-USC Holiday bowl. This was the first time he didn't have Pelini above him. It was wide open. He ran a breakneck offense throwing it 51 times. That pass heavy plan was a stark contrast to the 60%+ run offense before. I think I'm trying to get at my point of Tim Beck isn't the kind of coach that can be restrained to a certain style of offense, especially if it this run heavy version, like Meyer likes and Pelini wanted. I think Beck's DNA is closer to Mangino than Meyer and I wonder if it might be too difficult to interbreed and we end up with a sterile bitch.

Tim Beck comes from Nebraska, a program that basically died when Tom Osborne left in 1997. Bob Devany won two NC's in 1970 and 71. Osborne won 3 in 1994, 95, and 97. Nebraska did nothing before or since. So basically Nebraska is living off of it's reputation back in the 90's. some 18 years after it last won an NC. Do not put too much hope on any former Nebraska coach. They have had some good teams, but certainly no teams capable of challenging for a conference championship, much less a national championship. They have not won a conference championship in this century. If Urban keeps Beck under wraps and gets out of him what he is looking for, all will be well in Columbus.

Ha, this is a great revisionist history, but I have learned to expect that with your posts...
2001 - Lost Nat'l Champ. game by 23
2009 - Lost the B12 Champ. game by 1pt
2010 - Lost the B12 Champ. game by 3 pts
2012 - Embarrassed by Wisconsin in B1G Champ. game by 39 pts.

So Nebraska has played for three conference championships and one national championship in the 18 years. Did they lose all of them? You bet, but they were in the games, and two games they lost by a combined four points. Next time you post, try to actually know what you are talking about.

Miller is the best College QB of the 3; but a Tim Tebow in NFL; has ability to be a Percy; can make it in NFL as receiver; wildcat QB; and knows this is the way to the $$$$$..

They're saying Braxton is making the move to WR, and I don't buy it.... He won't be a WR, he will be doing EXACTLY what Byron Marshall from Oregon did.... He will become a slot WR that factors heavily in the run game and misdirection aspects. Urban Meyer is and always has been a proponent of creating space in a spread offense to RUN the ball first and foremost. Braxton miller was a running QB with average at best throwing capabilities. Moving him to a true HB would seem like a more logical fit to me because of how well he runs with the ball, but only time will tell how good his hands are. If he can prove to be a legitimate target and threat at the slot position, actually feeling in passes consistently, then he has a chance to be the defenses biggest nightmare every game. It allows urban even more wrinkles to confuse the defense by always putting him in motion or matching him up against much slower LBs .... How urban kept all three of these guys is beyond me. He's the best coach in the nation in almost every facet of the game. I don't really think it's close anymore to be honest. Saban is starting to trail behind.

now.....as for the QB battle. I think JT barret is a very smart passer and shows some good traits. Before his injury he was on fire and had an outside shot at the heisman. The team played phenomenally with him at the helm, by the time cardale stepped in, the team was hitting on all cylinders and was being led by a potent ground attack and a suffocating defense and special teams. All cardale had to do was not turn the ball over. With Elliot rushing for damn near 250 a game your playbook becomes extraordinarily simple and defenses are forced to sell out to stop the run, which as we all know allows for easy reads against man to man defenses and one on one coverage. Cardale played well, but his performance was inflated by the overall production of the team. Barrett should be the guy IF he's healthy. That's just my interpretation of the situation. I would keep the competition open but basically have my mind made up as JT being the guy the whole time......

with its all that being said, Urban is a HELL of a lot smarter than me, so what the hell do I know

It's smart for not only Braxton but osu as well...it help help with osu with some mis direction and he could throw out of it...he has no chance at qb in nfl so it would be wise to get some practice at war, perfecting routes etc..it may help him land on a nfl roster..
