Oh shock, the 1 thread where people weren't flaming each other goes to shit because of vittard, yet again.

Why is this allowed to continue? What is the point of "post review" if his reviewed bullshit posts make it into a thread where they clearly don't belong?

[h=1]Delta OKs offers of up to $9,950 to flyers who give up seats[/h]
In an internal memo obtained Friday by The Associated Press, Delta Air Lines said gate agents can offer up to $2,000, up from a previous maximum of $800, and supervisors can offer up to $9,950, up from $1,350.

United is reviewing its own policies, including incentives for customers, and will announce any actions by April 30, a spokeswoman said. The airline would not disclose its current compensation limit.

Other airlines said they were examining their policies. American Airlines updated its rules to say that no passenger who has boarded the plane will be removed to give the seat to someone else.

United will probably go up to $10,000!

This is a good take, I think

[h=3]How United Happens[/h]
Like all good consultants, I have a Model, mostly cribbed from others, based on two observations:

--The SNAFU principle: the farther up a hierarchy information has to travel, the more information is lost. This is because no one likes giving people bad news, so the news tends to get better the farther up it goes.

--The Peter Principle (modified): people rise in a hierarchy to the limits of their competence in rising in a hierarchy; further, the skill of rising in a hierarchy is largely independent of the skills needed to deal with actual issues.

Of course, the implication of this is something I've called Carl's Corollary (for a friend and co-worker Carl Madison, who first pointed it out). Carl's Corollary implies that most decisions are being made by people less and less competent to deal with the situation, using increasingly bad information.

Naturally, this results in bad decisions being made. The usual result is that once the bad decision has been made, someone is identified to be responsible, that person is punished, and a new policy is issued to make sure no one makes that mistake again.

Another unprovoked attack on a long term poster. He was talking to wabash and you blind side him with another childish, unnecessary comment.
Actually he was attacking me, not talking to me. Never had any issues with Mich so not sure why he felt the need to attack me. Freedom of speech allows me to post wherever and whenever I want. And I used to contribute here quite a bit and he knows it. But this place has become a shithole and I'm not the only one who thinks the mods played a big part in not controlling the crap in this place.

If you guys really think Vit is such a problem why don't you all just put him on ignore and you will be rid of him. It's really that simple. Or is your obsession with him so real that you are unable to function on here without him? You guys all act like a bunch of 2 year olds on here following some guy around who you all say is a loser and a liar but you can't stop talking about him. What the fuck is wrong with you people?

If you guys cant all just put him on ignore to end this, then YOU are the problem, not Vit.

Actually you have no freedoms at this forum. Those in charge can ban you or anyone they choose for no reason.

When 100+ people know he's a cancer to the forum and only here to stir up bullshit then he is the problem. Why should we have to put anyone on ignore? He's been banned at multiple forums. He should be banned on this one. End of story.

Now everything that happens with United will be under a microscope

Bride and groom booted off United flight in Houston

The couple, along with their friends, were flying from Salt Lake City and had a layover at George Bush Intercontinental Airport.
Michael Hohl, the groom, said he and his fiancé, Amber, were the last to board the plane.

According to Hohl, they noticed a man was spread across their row napping when they approached their seats, 24 B and C.

Not wanting to wake the man, Hohl said they decided to sit a three rows up in seats 21 B and C. He said they didn't think it would matter because the flight was half full with multiple empty rows.

“We thought not a big deal, it’s not like we are trying to jump up into a first-class seat," said Hohl.“We were simply in an economy row a few rows above our economy seat.”

After sitting, Holh said a flight attendant approached and asked if they were in their ticketed seats. The couple explained they weren't and asked if they could get an upgrade, but instead were told they needed to return to their assigned seats.

Holh said after complying with the flight attendant's demand, a U.S. Marshall came onto the plane and asked them to get off.

The couple cooperated and got off the plane without incident, but they still don't understand why.

"They said that we were being disorderly and a hazard to the rest of the flight, to the safety of the other customers," said Hohl.

I'm confused why they asked for an upgrade after being approached by the flight attendant.

United Airlines will cut a huge check with Dr. David Dao -- the airline and disgruntled passenger have settled the looming lawsuit.
Dao's lawyers just said they've reached "an amicable settlement" with UAL for the injuries Dao received when he was savagely dragged off a jet in Chicago.
Attorney Thomas Demetrio says the amount of the settlement will remain confidential ... but there's no doubt United cut an enormous check. A trial would have been a disaster for the airline.
Demetrio praised United's CEO, saying, "Mr. Munoz said he was going to do the right thing, and he has." The lawyer added United has taken "full responsibility."
United confirmed the news ... adding the new improvements "will put our customers at the center of everything we do."
