Lol I swear to God, this was the one hitter I was thinking of more than anyone else when I just clicked on this thread. Unbelievable. I gladly drafted him on all my fantasy teams this year, and I know it's inevitable that he goes for 20/80 - if not more - while perhaps winning another Gold Glove. Yes, most people don't recognize it also but Arenado pulled off the rare feat of winning one in his rookie year last season. Glad you have confidence in him as well because to me, there's no question this guy will become one of the best third basemen in all of baseball over the next several years. He's got a nice, long career ahead of him.
Anyway, I came into this thread to just spout a couple of pitchers (If you're a fantasy player, make sure you pick these guys up because my expertise is in starting pitching, and sleepers have always been my specialty. See: My 600-word article on Eric Stults on here in 2012 before any of the 30 GM's were willing to give him another shot in the majors)
James Paxton (I would also add Taijuan Walker but most already know about him. However, I like Paxton just as much, if not more, after watching both last season. Based on what I saw, he will be a legitimate No. 1 or No. 2 in someone's rotation)
David Hale (The next GREAT Braves pitcher)
Tyler Thornburg (When he gets inserted into the rotation; not sure why he's not beginning the season there)
Tanner Roark (Wrote about him two starts into his career at the end of last season; that success was no fluke)
Chris Rusin (Really, really like his potential; will be back on the Cubs staff at some point this year)
Tyler Chatwood (I discovered this kid in 2011; didn't have much success with the Angels and was very happy to see him receive another opportunity in Colorado; his success last season was no fluke)
Blake Beavan (As a Rangers fan, I was devastated when we traded him; WRONGFULLY got relegated to the bullpen last year by Seattle after two starts, but I believe he will still be a near-the-top-of-the-rotation pitcher at some point. I will never back down on this kid)
Henderson Alvarez (I've been on this kid's dick since he debuted in 2011 in Toronto. LOVED him as soon as he popped onto the scene, and while he's actually kinda taken a step back since then, thanks to decreased velocity and a lower strikeout rate, I have confidence he will continue to establish himself as an above-solid major league starter. See: Last year's no-hitter on the last day of the season. If he can pick the K's back up, he has the chance to be an elite pitcher. Also love Nathan Eovaldi, which is why the Marlins were my break-out pick this year.)
Bud Norris (My favorite pitcher in all of baseball since he debuted in 2009. He's ALWAYS been so underrated throughout his career, but in actuality, it's possible he may be on the decline now in the AL East, so I'm curious to see how he does in his first full season away from the NL Central. Huge moneymaker for me in over/unders over the years and I will always love this guy. Great strikeout artist, excellent attitude and demeanor, very prideful, which I think will carry him to continued success. Sucks he has to look over his shoulder, though, for their top prospects, which hopefully doesn't affect him early on. That's a big variable that might change his mindset but if he just sticks to his usual demeanor, he'll continue to be one of the most underappreciated starters in all of baseball)
