So Cal Baseball said:
CroCop has shown he is the master of the high kick, but I contend to agree with your analysis here. Barnett is a double-tough guy and I expect him to find a way to take him to the ground where I too think he'll take control of the fight. Randleman also showed what a nice punch can do to Mirko.

In fairness to Cro Cop, he wasn't expecting anything from Kevin on the feet...which was his mistake. Randleman is without question the most naturally gifted athlete MMA has ever seen. If he had a stronger all-around skillset, he would be ridiculously successful.

Barnett's downfall in this fight could be his ego: he chose to stand and trade with Pedro Rizzo. I also dislike his inactivity. The fights he's taken have not been with the upper echelon. Jimmy Ambritz and Semmy Schilt are not going to prepare you for the speed and power of Mirko.

By the way on the integrity issue as far as giving Abbott a guy like Mir for his return fight. Wasn't just bringing him back and making him main event status showing a lack of integrity to begin with?

It's hard to say. No one knew what Tank had left to give. Even on his worst day, he was still giving a lot of A-list fighters fits. Maurice Smith said he had never been hit as hard as Tank tagged him, even though Abbott had literally slid off a barstool to take that fight on a week's notice. There's that old chestnut about "power being the last thing to go." I think both Tank and Tyson have proved that power is worthless if you move like a turtle and have the cardio of a drowning victim.

To this day, I think Zuffa could squeeze mileage out of Tank with Abbott/Shamrock and Abbott/Sims. The former would be an easy sell due to their longstanding history and you're guaranteeing one old timer the win. They're also the two best talkers in the business. The latter could be a win for Abbott. Sims is that bad.

Unfortunately, Tank is not hurting for cash and isn't going to take a pay cut. Likewise, Zuffa isn't going to give the worst name fighter on the circuit yet another six-figure payday. I doubt he'll be back.

I totally agree on the Abbott-Shamrock proposal.... To the hardcore fans it isnt anything great, but to the casual fans they would love it. Maybe im optimistic, but i think the sport is growing all the time. What they need to do is try an promote it a bit more. There are some great fighters, and some great fights on this upcoming card.

I try not to overthink MMA, and just enjoy it for what it is..... fighting. Right now people will watch what they think is important. They watch the big football game so they can talk about and know what happened. The UFC is a very small knit, underground fan base of sorts here in the US. I will guarentee that any sports fan that goes to a live event will be interested in atleast somewhat following the sport in the future.

There are some guys who are getting followings and are fun to watch... Robbie Lawler win or lose gives it everything and is a crowdpleaser. Liddell.. Ditto.... I think 2 years from know MMA will be more popular than it is now.

I think that the UFC is doing well right now and its popularity is only growing. Its a great sport and lets hope that it can start to get a little more attention and keep growing.

i`m seriously considering closing out my 5 dimes and/or olympic account and throwing it all into pinnacle......

neither of these sh1t-boxes has put up ufc odds....5 dimes just put up lines on darts........fvck them...

if nothing by tomorrow,i`m making some phone calls and closing up shop......

5 dimes is usually a little better than this....oly has fallen off the face of the earth....

disgusting...

i Totally agree. Oly was great with boxing lines, but they have sucked since the summer. SBG was always good with lines but they were the worst when it came to customer service. I always use bodog but they dont put up many lines with boxing or MMA until last minute...... Pinnacle seems to be the best option..

I must say that maybe a reason some cards dont do as well as others is the marketing of the cards. I have direct TV, and for a week straight, it was nothing but Couture-Belfort on payperview. Geat little 15 minute segment setting up the fight. Others cards, like this one get next to nothing. If they started to market some of these guys, like get a few on the best damn sports show more ofter, not just Ortiz and Couture, people would actually know these is a PPV going on this weekend.
