Taking Ching over Twellman makes McBride more important. Eddie Johnson can play too but he is a different player than McBride. Twellman could have stepped in for McBride, but I don't think Ching or Wolff can. I don't understand why Twellman didn't make the team, I know he had some below average outings when called up in the past, but he played well in the lead-up games to team announcement. I think I have seen him play 5 or 6 times and he has like 10 goals, literally. He is pretty one dimensional, but so is McBride.

I know, I was stunned Twellman wasn't added. Still don't get it. The only thing I can possibly think of is maybe it's an internal/chemisty conflict. Perhaps he was pissing off the wrong people the way Mathis was rubbing Arena the wrong way before 2002 World Cup. Ching doesn't excite me at all.

I think the person he was pissing off, or had pissed off, was Arena. Agree on Ching, he does nothing for me. Dempsey and Twellman have a nice little on-field chemistry though.
