#6 CALIPARTY (ML=5/2)
#9 SOLLY'S MISCHIEF (ML=7/2)
CALIPARTY - It looks like Pennington had to be more familiar with this gelding on April 13th when riding him for the initial time. Back on board again today. Lehman drops him down to this class level. You don't need too much more handicapping knowledge to think this thoroughbred has a good chance at this level. Have to make this gelding a win candidate; he comes off a strong race on Apr 13th. This gelding has been working out well, and the recent bullet work says he's primed for a top effort today. This gelding looks like a natural router, based on efforts in last 2 sprint races. SOLLY'S MISCHIEF - This rider and trainer are reliable together. Winning percent when teamed up is difficult to top. I like horses that return to a similar class level after dropping at least five class rating pts like this one did in the last race. I believe he'll be competitive at this level.
Vulnerable Contenders: #1 MORE HUNDRED ACRE (ML=9/2), #7 TEXAS TEX (ML=5/1), #4 RUGBY ROAD (ML=6/1),
MORE HUNDRED ACRE - Not likely that the speed fig he recorded on March 29th will be good enough in this event. TEXAS TEX - Let me give you a lesson. For the most part, don't play a maiden breaker out of a maiden claimer next out. RUGBY ROAD - A come from behinder like this one needs a speed duel to set things up and he isn't likely to get one this time around. Awfully hard to wager on this questionable contender when he hasn't been showing any signs of life recently.
STRAIGHT WAGERS:
Have to go with #6 CALIPARTY on the win end if we get at least 5/2 odds
EXACTA WAGERS:
Box [6,9]
