Favorites continue cashing in Conference Finals
After the underdog was the story in the early stages of the NBA Playoffs, the favorite has been cashing in for basketball bettors of late.
With the Miami Heat's 102-90 victory as a 6-point home fave in Game 4 of their Eastern Conference series with the Indiana Pacers, the fave is now 6-1 ATS (against the spread) in the Conference Finals and is 6-0 ATS in the past six games.
The only dog to cover in the Conference Finals was the Pacers' 107-96 victory in Game 1 as 1.5-point home dogs.
The Oklahoma City Thunder host the San Antonio Spurs as 2.5-point home faves in the Western Conference Finals Tuesday.
Heat open as 2-point road faves for Game 5
The opening line from Pinnacle.com has the Heat as 2-point road faves over the Pacers in Game 5 of Wednesday's NBA Eastern Conference Final.
This should come as no surprise to bettors due to the Heat's convincing three-game winning streak over Indiana after dropping the series opener.
In NBA history, teams leading 3-1 in a best-of-seven series have gone on to win 96 percent of the time (209-8). The Heat are looking to continue that trend Wednesday night and head to the NBA Finals for a fourth-straight year - with a three-peat looking like a very realistic possibility.
