Villanova Wildcats vs St Joseph's Hawks Dec 1, 7:00 EST

When Wildcats and Hawks clash low-scoring basketball games are the norm. In the past twelve meetings the 'Under' has paid 10 times with just 2 'Over'. Another positive for 'Under' gamblers, Hawks are 10-2 'Under' vs a team with a winning record, 7-3 'Under' last 10 non-conference games. Additionally, Wildcats allowing 53.5 PPG on 32.5% shooting on the season have played 'Under' in 4-of-5 and in 11 of its last 13 early non-conference games. Finally, the 'Under' is 8-1 in Wildcats games vs a team with a winning record.

# 3 SPIRITINA 2/1

# 1 DALI WEST 3/1

# 2 HONEY DREAMS 10/1

SPIRITINA has a formidable shot to take this race. Could definitely better this field given the 70 speed rating achieved in her last contest. Recently Wilder has been hot, which may give the edge to this mare for this race. Mare and trainer go together like two peas in a pod. They finish in the money 100 percent of their races. DALI WEST - This contest may be controlled by this filly. Just one look at the avgerage TrackMaster speed fig will prove that. Has a strong shot in this one, if she can race to her back racing class. HONEY DREAMS - Have to make Palone the wager here if only for the last thirty days win percent. Big probability for the triumph.

# 6 DELLA BEA 10/1

# 4 SUE'S YOUR DADDY 12/1

# 8 FASHION RUFFLES 6/1

DELLA BEA seems to be our best wagering option in this race and is a very nice value wager given the line. Could very well be the most competitive in the pack here, showing really good numbers of late. Avg speed is a solid 80. This nice horse will be greatly helped with Hensley steering. 19 percent winners the last 30 days. The handicapping team always likes a proven player. This horse's high winning pct is confirmation of that. SUE'S YOUR DADDY - Has really strong speed ratings and clearly has to be considered for a wager in this race. There is a very good probability that this solid standardbred will improve with the med change with second time Lasix. FASHION RUFFLES - Recorded a 78 TrackMaster Speed Rating last out. A duplicate event here should get the ultimate prize in here.

RECOMMENDED CHOICES

The Walker Group Picks

# 7 ROCK HARD LEGACY 6/1

# 1 PRINCESS REYANA 3/1

# 4 LADY RHUBARB 10/1

ROCK HARD LEGACY is the top bet in this race. Her 68 average has this mare with among the most favorable Equibase Speed Figures in this race. Has been racing in the most competitive company of the field as of late. Acquilano has one of the best winning percentages in this group of animals with entries running at this distance and surface. PRINCESS REYANA - Should be given a shot in here if only for the very strong speed rating garnered in the last race. Is difficult not to look at given the company run in recently. LADY RHUBARB - Looks formidable against this group of horses in this race and will almost certainly be one of the leaders. Strong pick to take this race going in a dirt sprint.

RECOMMENDED CHOICES

The Walker Group Picks

# 4 KORCHA KID 2/1

# 6 PRAY FOR GOLD 3/1

# 1 SILVER ICING 7/2

KORCHA KID looks to be a formidable contender. Lopez has recent ROI figs which make this entrant a very good bet. Must be given consideration for this event if only for the strong Equibase Speed Fig garnered in the last affair. Has a strong shot for this event if you like back class. PRAY FOR GOLD - Vergara has been hot the last month, winning at a nifty 22 percent rate. Overall, has one of the top earnings per start in dirt sprint contests in this lot. SILVER ICING - Silva has a very strong win percentage with horses running in dirt sprint races. Had one of the best speed figs of this group in her last affair.

#2 R K'S AFLEET (ML=3/1)

R K'S AFLEET - Emigh and Berndt perform well when they join forces. It's hard to beat a +199 ROI for a jockey and handler. Emigh was aboard this gelding last time around the track and was impressed enough to take the horse right back. Sub-par performance last out at Hawthorne was due to the off-going (he finished fourth). Has to do better in this race on a non-sloppy track.

Vulnerable Contenders: #1 CUT BOY (ML=7/5), #4 DELIBERATE HASTE (ML=6/1), #9 SILENT SHARK (ML=6/1),

CUT BOY - Hasn't been on the Hawthorne oval in the last three weeks. Cause for some concern. DELIBERATE HASTE - This gelding hasn't been showing me anything in the last couple of races. Not probable that the speed rating he garnered on November 3rd will hold up in this affair. SILENT SHARK - This horse doesn't have a winner's disposition. Repeatedly finishes near the winner.

#8 UNCLE FUDGE (ML=9/2)
#10 OCEANS SWISSLE (ML=30/1)

UNCLE FUDGE - I undeniably see good things for this thoroughbred right here. OCEANS SWISSLE - Always beware the longer priced equine when a trainer has an 'uncoupled' entry in a race. Eikleberry is back for another race today after riding on board this horse for the 1st attempt on Nov 16th and ought to know the ropes to this one a little better. I think that a sprinter coming off a layoff will usually run his best in the 3rd or 4th start back.

Vulnerable Contenders: #4 ATTABOYATTEBERRY (ML=3/1), #6 BUCA WHO LOOKER (ML=4/1), #5 HES A GEM (ML=6/1),

ATTABOYATTEBERRY - The fourth place finish last time around the track coming after the long breather is certainly not a healthy signal. Difficult to play any horse in a sprint event at 3/1 when he hasn't shown any on the board results in sprints in the last 60 days. BUCA WHO LOOKER - This horse hasn't shown much effort in the last couple contests. Don't feel this entrant will make an impact in today's event. That last rating was most unsatisfactory when compared with today's class rating. HES A GEM - This horse likes to be in the money, but doesn't usually finish first. Forget the top spot.

Yonkers: Tuesday 12/1 Analysis
By Matt Rose

DRF HARNESS

MEET STATS: 377 - 1144 / $2,107.00 BEST BETS: 54 - 92 / $189.10

Best Bet: A BETTOR HAT (12th)

Spot Play: CARNEGIE (11th)

Race 1

(3) HRUBYS N LUCK has shown some decent foot for Allard and he returns locally in a good spot at the basement level; Sears should be forwardly placed with him in the 1pm opener. (1) WAYNE THE LEFTY also returns locally with the best draw and he certainly knows his way around this track. (4) WAYWARD SON drops in class and could awaken.

Race 2

(3) GET TO DOIN IT was a going-away winner in his first start after shipping from the Iowa fair circuit and he can clearly take another. (2) TSWALU has hinted at some ability and he can be considered from this inside post. (5) BETTOR TO BE LUCKY has been second best in his last four local starts.

Race 3

(8) COMMISSIONER DALEY returns locally off an aggressive win at Pocono and he had a nice run locally around this time last year with Dube driving. (4) NEW SCENT gets leading driver Bartlett in the bike upon arrival from Plainridge. (1) ALMAFI COAST never got involved in his last two from outside posts in those added-distance races.

Race 4

(2) SHORTSKIRTNHIHEELS was a decent second in his local debut and Bartlett's choice can get over the hump today. (8) SING OUT folded on the front end versus better at a longer distance last out but his start prior he jogged versus this type; he's got the early speed to overcome the eight hole. (1) NORTHERN ESCORT makes his first start off the bench and not much is expected, but he could hit the bottom of the ticket.

Race 5

(3) TAP INTO POWER arrives from Philly for Bamond off a solid effort in just his second lifetime spot; youngster looks tough to beat. (5) IWILLMAKEYOUSAYWOW closed well to just miss last out and he'll make his presence felt here. (4) SHANE ADAM gets a touch of post relief and Zeron drives again.

Race 6

(4) SUMMER SCENT raced much better in her second local start and the filly could have more to offer. (3) ARRAKIS arrives from Ontario for the Auciello barn and the well-mannered gelding could be a good fit here. (5) LADYONE didn't threaten in her debut for Julie Miller but she looks better than that.

Race 7

(6) LADY WINONA is clearly the most accomplished in here and notice she faced Mission Brief in her last two; I'm not running to the windows to bet her at 3/5, however. (4) CUP TOWN GIRL never reached last out; she can be considered at a decent price from this spot. (7) CELEBRITY PEGASUS was a solid winner last out and looks for four straight.

Race 8

(4) UNIX HANOVER has been solid recently for Blackler and he should be favored to take this from this spot. (2) AM MAGIC MAN ships from Hoosier, joins the Allard barn, gets Sears in the bike and commands serious respect. (5) FOR KEVIN'S SAKE returns from Monticello off an easy win.

Race 9

(2) DOUBLEDAY has been super in all recent starts for Marcus Melander and he can take his fourth straight despite facing slightly better. (5) ANDY RAY broke while getting on the move last out in his debut for Jim Campbell; give him another look. (4) ALGORITHM ships from Saratoga and was Bartlett's choice.

Race 10

(8) CLASS SIX is a perfect 3 for 3 since the Burke purchase; this is a tough spot but perhaps we haven't seen his best yet. (1) THE SPY has taken his last two at big prices; tough to like him at a short price today. (6) ITSONLYROCKNROLL A was in too tough at Pocono recently; import fits well here.

Race 11

(2) CARNEGIE is by no means a prolific winner but this looks like a very live spot. (4) DREAMSTEELER exits the Billings ranks and gets Bartlett back in the bike. (5) BLUEBIRD KIDSQUEEN has raced well in two of her last three.

Race 12

(1) A BETTOR HAT was shuffled out last week; down the road today. (3) SECRET THREAT didn't fire with his best last out but he seems better than that. (5) BORIS tackles tougher today but he's been sharp and can complete the bottom of the ticket at a price.

Tuesday's six-pack

Coaching carousel doings the last few days.........

-- USC gave Clay Helton a 5-year contract to be its football coach.

-- Dolphins fired their OC, replaced him with QB coach Zac Taylor, son-in-law of former Packer coach Mike Sherman, who coached Ryan Tannehill at Texas A&M.

-- Looks like Tom Herman will sign a new contract, stay at Houston. His Cougars are in the AAC title game against Temple Saturday.

-- Iowa State signed former Toledo coach Matt Campbell as its coach; Virginia Tech signed former Memphis coach Justin Fuente as its coach.

-- Rutgers fired its football coach and AD this weekend; their athletic program loses a small fortune every year. No excuse for them being bad in basketball- New Jersey is a talent-rich state.

-- Illinois gave interim coach Bill Cubit an unusually-short 2-year deal to be coach.

Bonus Play Tuesday

757 IUPUI at 758 BALL STATE 7:00 PM

Take: IUPUI +7.5

Lots of enticing games on college basketball courts tonight, headlined by the second night of the ACC-Big Ten Challenge. This is decidedly not one of those games.

Nevertheless, I think the game between IUPUI and Ball State is worth a wager. These might well be two pretty low level entries, but if it results in a payday, that’s good enough for me.

IUPUI started the season off with a bang, slo to speak. They scored a mild upset against Indiana State and then forced Marquette to overtime before losing to four. The Jaguars then got blown out by NC State and didn’t play very well in any of their next three games. IUPUI lost again on Friday at Georgia State to drop to 2-5, but the Jags did a few good things in that game before absorbing their second overtime loss of the season.

Make no mistake, this is by no means a good basketball team. IUPUI is prone to turnovers and none of their shooters are ever going to draw comparisons to Stephen Curry. They’ve had four straight losing campaigns, and chances are that unfortunate streak will continue this season.

But IUPUI getting as many as they are this evening is inviting. Ball State is hardly a powerhouse, and the Cardinals are in a dangerous letdown situation. Bad State has fallen upon some serious hard times the last couple of seasons. The Cardinals were a combined 12-48 the last two years, and most projections have them at the bottom of the MAC again this season. But this weekend was a good one in Muncie as Ball State knocked off Valparaiso, in what has to be the best win the program has enjoyed in quite some time.

Now the Cardinals find themselves in a very unfamiliar role, that of a good sized favorite. Ball State does have the revenge motive here as they were lost an overtime thriller at IUPUI last season. It does appear from the early results that the Cardinals might be a little better than anticipated, but weak teams off an upset win and laying points is an invitation to consider the underdog for me.

Ball State head coach James Whitford is utilizing lots of platers so far this season, with a ten-man rotation and I would definitely agree the Cardinals deserve to be favored on paper. But this is still a pretty substantial number for a team not used to being the chalk and off the Valpo upset I can see some flattening out taking place. I’m comfortable enough with IUPUI being good enough to hang in and make this a pretty good battle, so I’ll side with the Jaguars plus the points.

(703) LOS ANGELES LAKERS VS (704) PHILADELPHIA 76ERS

Take: (704) PHILADELPHIA 76ERS

Reason: Your Bonus Play for Tuesday, December 1, 2015 is in the NBA scheduled contest between the LA Lakers and the 76ers in Philadelphia. The L.A. Lakers play their first game of a brutal 8-game road trip on the East Coast with the offense slumping. LA has lost 6 in a row and the team is on a 1-5 ATS run, plus the Lakers are 5-15-1 ATS in their last 21 games playing on one days rest. LA is on a 0-4 ATS run on the road and faces a desperate 76ers team that has yet to win a game. How many chances this season will they get to beat anybody? This is one, and they're home. Philadelphia is also covering games, on a 5-0 ATS run, including 6-0 ATS vs. a team with a losing record. Play the 76ers.
