Cheney was warned of the approaching hijacked aircraft at 50 miles out, then thirty miles out and finally at ten miles out when the officer came into the room to ask "Sir, do the orders still stand?" Those orders must have been "stand down", otherwise the approaching plane would have been taken out, if not at the 50 mile point, then at the 30, or at the least, the 10 mile point. But instead, those deadly aircraft were allowed into this most secured air-space on the planet!!

Actually, it's much worse than this exchange.

They unilaterally changed the rules of engagement for hijacked aircraft months before the 9/11 attacks.

Under the old rules, the military would scramble fighter jets and make the decision whether to shoot down a plane. Under the new rules, that authority was transferred to a civilian chain-of-command....presumably the VP?

Wow! Isn't that convenient! Another amazing coincidence! Did Bin Laden set all that up months before???

How long does it take to scramble a fighter jet? 2 minutes? And how long were those alleged "hijacked planes" in the air for? A half hour...some over an hour?

So why the fuck weren't they shot down??? WHY???

Have the American people ever gotten an explanation for this? Did the 9/11 Commission ever explain it?

You can see how the official story completely falls apart, no matter what angle you attack it from.

Probably why nobody has ever actually been...ya know, prosecuted and convicted for 9/11 in a court of law or even military tribunal.

Ya know, 9/11 can be summed up in one sentence:

Had the military the authority to shoot down hijacked aircraft, 9/11 wouldn't have happened. I COULDN'T have happened.

Or, at the very least, it would have been over after the first "plane". Any and all subsequent hijacked aircraft would have been immediately shot down by fighter jets. At least according to the traditional rules of engagement.

Ahh, but as you can see, this would have posed a BIG problem to complete the operation using the "hijacked planes" narrative, both at the Pentagon, but especially the Twin Towers.

One-and-done and the South Tower would still be standing, which could NOT be allowed to happen.

That's why Dick Cheney made the call (or didn't make the call, as it were). According to vague indirect carefully scripted testimony by Transportation Secretary Norman Mineta, Cheney sat back and let it all happen and unfold as the world witnessed.

The Twin Towers were white elephants that their owner, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, had wanted to demolish for years but could not as the buildings were loaded with asbestos that would have cost millions to remove.

Among other issues, the occupancy rate was below 50%. Why on earth would anyone want to lease these antiquated pieces of trash properties?

In January 2001, Silverstein made a $3.2 billion bid to lease-purchase the World Trade Center complex. Silverstein's negotiated bid was finalized on July 24, 2001, less than 2 months prior to 9/11. The Port Authority agreed to lease the twin towers to Larry Silverstein and he agreed to pay the equivalent of $3.2 billion over the next 99 years. This was the first time in the complex's 31-year history that it had changed management.

The lease agreement applied to One, Two, Four, and Five World Trade Center, and about 425,000 square feet of retail space. Silverstein put up just $14 million of his own money to secure the deal. The agreement gave Silverstein, as leaseholder, the right and the obligation to rebuild the structures if destroyed.

The insurance policies for World Trade Center buildings WTC 1. 2, 4 and 5 had a collective face amount of $3.55 billion and the insurance policy he took out included protection against terrorist attacks.

#1. Larry wasn't even close to being the sole lease holder, it was a consortium. All consortium entities would have a say in the amount of insurance to buy
#2. There was no such thing as "terrorism insurance" all commercial policies covered terrorist attacks implicitly
#3. The consortium was contractually OBLIGATED to insure the buildings as part of being a lease holder.
#4. The World Trade Center was fully covered when it was bombed by terrorists in 1993, and insurers paid out an estimated $510 million in damages after that incident. There's no reason to suppose that the WTC wasn't routinely covered against terrorist acts right up until the time the consortium took over the lease in 2001.
