Ha, I didn't see any of your solutions to his conundrum, only stupid vitard-like quips which dumb down the thread.

Ya, Joe, you add a lot of value down here.

Next it will be the wall, then it will be deporting 11 million illegals, then it will be renegotiating NAFTA, etc.. But hey, he saved a Ford plant that was never going to Mexico from going to Mexico. Good stuff. What a time to be alive!

And when he starts "softening" on the wall, mass deportations, refugees, climate change, etc. will that be for leverage also?

Well, an emoji is an appropriate lazy response when someone doesn't add any substance and veers straight off topic. I liken it to leaving a penny for a tip.

This keeps up I'm going to have to start calling you 'manturd' in honor of your banned buddy.

It's too bad your baked boy Gary Johnson won't be running the show for the next eight years.

I don't think it's lazy at all, considering he has already started softening on some of of his campaign promises.

Hah, Vit actually predicted that you'd start calling me some variation of Vit. Looks like he was correct with "manturd". Talk about lazy and predictable.

As I have said multiple times, I didn't vote for Gary Johnson. I know that won't stop you from lying, though. I forget that lying is like breathing to you.

Why is it that when I hurt your feelings you lie and try to insult me with meaningless crap like fence-sitting and Gary Johnson? It's kind of sad for a grown man.

Do you want to have an actual conversation about Trump or would you rather repeatedly bring up a guy that I didn't vote for and got less than 5% of the vote? Your call.

You didn't hurt my feelings, you're just being an ass and because I'm calling you on it and now you got your panties in a wad.

You want to talk about Trump's (nonexistent) "broken promises" in a thread which claims he's going to let Crooked Hillary slide.

First, Trump never promised he'd "lock her up!" before the election.

Second, a campaign spokesperson made this latest statement, not Trump. He's not bound by it one way or the other - a very good thing because...

Finally, like I said...let Crooked Hillary dangle in the wind. If Democrats want to cooperate and MAGA, hop on board the Trump Train! On the other hand, if all they want to do is lie and obstruct, pull out that TRUMP card and play it! If they're going to derail his agenda or filibuster his judicial nominees, he'd have nothing to lose at that point.

Their choice... all theirs.

Time for America to start winning again - and the RINOs and fence sitters who ALWAYS lose to get the hell out of the way!

There you have it, Mantis... perfectly executed analysis.

Candidate Trump - "If I win, I am going to instruct my attorney general to get a special prosecutor to look into your situation, because there has never been so many lies, so much deception. There has never been anything like it, and we're going to have a special prosecutor."

President-elect Trump - I want to move forward, I don't want to move back. And I don't want to hurt the Clintons. I really don't. She went through a lot. And suffered greatly in many different ways. And I am not looking to hurt them at all," "It's just not something that I feel very strongly about."

Candidate Trump - "I think there's a change in weather. I am not a great believer in man-made climate change. I'm not a great believer...I'm not a big believer in man-made climate change." And in May, he said he would "cancel" the Paris climate change accord.

President-elect Trump - "I have an open mind to it," he told the Times on the Paris deal. "We're going to look very carefully. I have a very open mind."Asked about the scientific consensus on a connection between human activity and climate change, he added: "I think there is some connectivity. There is some, something. It depends on how much. It also depends on how much it's going to cost our companies."

This doesn't even make sense in this conversation.

I know Dave's your buddy, but it has to be somewhat annoying for him to see you wear out his jokes. Maybe one day you'll have an original thought. For your sake, I hope so.
Not annoying at all, somethings never get old. Anyhow, back on topic, it's
not the Presidents job to prosecute that's the job of the AG. If Sessions
decides that laws have been broken by Clinton than she should be indicted.

I would hope that Trump, unlike Obama, will stay above the fray and concentrate
on getting the country headed in the right direction. There's a yuge mess to fix
and I'm confident Trump is up to the task.

P.S. If you've decided to become the poli forum shit stirrer I say have at it, just
try to not be redundant.

I don't know what he'll actually do, but his tone has certainly changed, and it would give me some doubt if I was a Trump supporter.

Anyway, I'm out for the weekend. Happy Thanksgiving. We're going to have a fun 4 years, Jose.

I can understand why you would interpret this as a "broken promise" - read between the lines.

He's not going to pursue it at this time (even while Congress AND the FBI continue their investigation into Crooked Hillary and her crooked foundation).

You know what? Throughout the entire campaign, Trump made similar threats about running as a third party candidate - some days he was leaning one way, other days the opposite...nobody knew what he would do. The important thing is, it KEPT THE SLEAZEBAG RINOs HONEST!

Tone, shmone...it seems he will use the "special prosecutor" threat the same way he used his "third party" threat against the RINO establishment.

Meh, "it's not something that I feel strongly about" - is hardly a definitive statement one way or another.

It's called leverage, mantis. Leverage gives you the power and flexibility to make great deals.

Very, very smart man and negotiator this Donald Trump guy is.

I don't think that as POTUS he should encourage some sort of new special prosecutor, and I believe that's the point he's making. We really don't want to divide the country even more.

HOWEVER, I also don't believe he should curtail any ongoing investigations, and he's also said he won't do that.

I don't think he has unilateral authority to do either anyhow, with the one exception being a Presidential pardon

I think Obama is going to pardon Clinton, making it all a moot point. I also think Congress will continue it's investigation(s), if only to embarrass her more (which can be politically damaging in 2018)

It's called "political sway." Sort of like the same sway an ex-president uses when he accidentally runs into the AG's plane on the tarmac. Maybe not the most 'lawful' solution. But probably the best. Can't drain the swamp in rapid time with all the leaking oil resulting from the next several years investigating and prosecuting her.
