Trump and repubs were both very critical of obama vacations. Yet, not a word about trump 2 vacations in a month.

I'm always going to laugh at any buffoon / ghost who signs up at a gambling forum to complain about Trump's accomplishments 3 weeks into his administration

do I really need to elaborate?

what did he back down from? can someone give me the cliff notes?

His acceptance of the One China policy, under which Washington does not challenge Beijing’s claim to what it deems a breakaway province, was a stunning reversal, contradicting previous suggestions he would pursue closer ties with Taiwan.

'trump blinked first'...lol. Certainly not written by a Trump supporter. Seemingly, half the shit that comes out of his mouth are random thoughts, hasn't been vetted. good grief. With that said, he's a negotiator. AS LONG as he somewhat levels the playing field with China?

from the article I posted;

In summary, Scott stated, "The U.S.–China trade relationship needs to undergo a fundamental change. Addressing unfair trade, weak labor and environmental standards in China, and ending currency manipulation and misalignment should be our top trade and economic priorities with China. It is time for the United States to respond to the growing chorus of calls from economists, workers, businesses, and Congress (Scott 2014b)

in the above, forget 'weak labour, environmental concerns'-lol, those are two of the big adv China has to offer foreign corps, good grief. Also you are not telling China what to do--they will pay citizens as they wish and they will pollute as much as they want , use masks during rush hour. They Give No Fuck, until...they do decide to Give A Fuck. What Trump, hopefully, does curtail (he should use pressures from other allies as well, a team effort) is China must stop currency manipulation. No way. China was a major election card he used--now, let see how it goes.

.................................

a quick reminder to all;

How Did China Become One of America's Biggest Bankers?

China is more than happy to own close to a third of the U.S. debt.
<iframe frameborder="0" src="https://tpc.googlesyndication.com/safeframe/1-0-5/html/container.html#xpc=sf-gdn-exp-3&p=https%3A//www.thebalance.com" id="google_ads_iframe_/479/thebalance/bal_us-economy/billboard2_0" title="3rd party ad content" name="" scrolling="no" marginwidth="0" marginheight="0" width="300" height="250" data-is-safeframe="true" style="box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0px auto; padding: 0px; border-width: 0px; border-style: initial; vertical-align: bottom;"></iframe>

Owning U.S. Treasury notes helps China's economy grow by keeping its currency weaker than the dollar. It keeps Chinese exports cheaper than U.S. products. China's highest priority is creating enough jobs for its 1.4 billion people.
The United States allowed China to become one of its biggest bankers because the American people enjoy low consumer prices. Selling debt to China funds federal government programs that allow the U.S. economy to grow. It also keeps U.S. interest rates low. But China's ownership of the U.S. debt is shifting the economic balance of power in its favor.
Why Does China Own So Much U.S. Debt?

China makes sure the yuan is always lower than the U.S. dollar. Why? Part of its economic strategy is to keep its export prices competitive. It does this by holding the yuan at a fixed rate compared to a "currency basket" of which the majority is the dollar. When the dollar falls in value, the Chinese government uses dollars it has on hand to buy treasuries

The Trump administration is unlikely to label China a "currency manipulator," breaking one of the president's campaign promises, according to a top outside economic adviser.
“I would doubt that would happen,” Stephen Schwarzman, the chairman of Blackstone Group and chair of a presidential advisory board of top business leaders, told Bloomberg Television on Tuesday.
Schwarzman said China was not mentioned when the strategy and policy group held their second meeting on Tuesday.
By law, the Treasury Department must release currency reports to Congress twice a year on whether major trading partners are unfairly manipulating currencies.
The report, expected this month, will be Treasury's first currency report of the Trump administration.
Not labeling China a currency manipulator would be a shift for the president.
During the campaign, Trump accused China of manipulating its currency to hurt the U.S in trade. He vowed to label China as a currency manipulator — which has not been done since 1994.
In an October Treasury report last year, five countries including China were placed on a U.S. watch list for possibly engaging in unfair trade practices. The Treasury claimed China had been trying to boost the value of the yuan in exchange markets.
Trump also reportedly did not mention the issue during his meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping last week.
After the meeting of the two world leaders concluded, the White House announced a 100-day timeline to work on the U.S. trade relationship with China.Democrats are already hammering Trump on his China policy, arguing that he has failed to match his tough campaign rhetoric.
During a Tuesday conference call with reporters, Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) called on Trump to put pressure on China for its unfair trade practices and pushed for China to be labeled a currency manipulator.
Trump has taken a slower approach on many of his trade promises.
On the campaign trail, he pledged to renegotiate the North American Free Trade Agreement and impose tariffs on U.S. companies or foreign countries that move companies or jobs overseas.
But since he took office, the administration has sent conflicting signs on how it will handle NAFTA.
“For far too long, China taken us to the cleaners as far as the economy,” Schumer said. “I can’t think of a single job they have saved by a single action against China."

He's only one win behind the 2016 Browns. There's always the expectation that the next debacle will also be called a win by the blind sheep who support the idiot.

Trump on North Korea: “After listening for 10 minutes, I realized it’s not so easy”

President Donald Trump recounted an absolutely astounding detail about one of his conversations with Chinese President Xi Jinping in comments published by the Wall Street Journal on Wednesday afternoon. Apparently, Trump came into his first meeting with the Chinese leader, in early April, convinced that China could simply eliminate the threat posed by North Korea’s nuclear program. Xi then patiently explained Chinese-Korean history to Trump — who then promptly changed his mind.
“After listening for 10 minutes, I realized it’s not so easy,” the president told the Journal. “I felt pretty strongly that they had a tremendous power [over] North Korea. ... But it’s not what you would think.”
Four quick observations about this:

 1. Trump thought China could fix North Korea until the Chinese president politely informed him that North Korea is in fact complicated.
 2. Trump seems to have required the leader of China to explain basic facts to him that he could have Googled, or at least asked one of the many US government North Korea experts about.
 3. Trump came to a profound realization about one of the most dangerous conflicts on earth after a 10-minute conversation.
 4. Trump is getting his information about East Asian affairs from the leader of America’s largest rival in the region.
Around the same time the Journal piece was published, North Korea informed reporters to prepare for a “big and important event.” Initial reports suggest that Pyongyang is planning to test a nuclear device for just the sixth time in the country’s history. There’s no word yet on how the Trump administration plans to respond.

Foreign journalists in North Korea told to prepare for 'big' event
By James Pearson | SEOUL
Foreign journalists visiting North Korea have been told to prepare for a "big and important event" on Thursday, although there were no indications it was directly linked to tensions in the region over the isolated state's nuclear weapons program.

Around 200 foreign journalists are in Pyongyang as the country marks the 105th birth anniversary of its founding president Kim Il Sung on April 15, North Korea's biggest national day called "Day of the Sun".

Officials gave no details as to the nature of the event or where it would take place, and similar announcements in the past have been linked to relatively low-key set pieces.

In 2016, for example, foreign journalists underwent hours of investigation by North Korean officials ahead of what turned out to be a pop concert to mark the finale of a ruling Workers' Party congress.

But tensions are running high, with a U.S. Navy strike group steaming toward the western Pacific in a show of force and North Korea warning of a nuclear attack on the United States at any sign of American aggression.

Chinese President Xi Jinping called for a peaceful resolution to the North Korean problem in a telephone conversation with U.S. President Donald Trump on Wednesday.

In April, 2012, North Korea attempted to launch a long-range rocket ahead of the 100th Day of the Sun. State media later confirmed the launch had failed.

On Wednesday, North Korean officials told foreign journalists in Pyongyang invited to mark the national holiday that their schedule had been canceled, and to instead meet early on Thursday to prepare for a "big and important event".

Visits by foreign journalists to North Korea are rare and tightly coordinated, and security checks at events attended by leader Kim Jong Un are especially rigorous.

North Korea often uses such visits to showcase new construction projects. In recent weeks workers have been putting the finishing touches to the skyscraper-lined "Ryomyong" street in central Pyongyang.

Kim has made frequent visits to the street to inspect construction work there, according to state media. North Korea has in the past marked its April 15 holiday with tightly choreographed military parades.

It isn't fair for me to say what it is because the poster can no longer respond. But we're all thinking the same thing. I think there's an emoji that depicts it.
