It's funny how people talk trash after the fact. If, on 10/22, every poster had been required to put $1,000 on one candidate or the other, how many would've bet on Trump? My guess is hardly anybody; I wouldn't have and I voted for Trump.
Me. Bet that dime with another poster. Got 2 gs in return.
As a gambler it's always a bad idea to follow the noise. I talk to a lot of people every day. It was clear to me that the working class guys who normally vote Dem were switching to the Trump train. And I live in ultra liberal Mass. What was it gonna be like in the South and in the rust belt?
Trump was offering a wall and renegotiation of trade agreements. Those two things would mean more jobs in America for born and raised Americans. He was promising revitalization of energy projects including clean coal (remember Hillary promised to put coal out of business? Remember she was against the pipeline?) More jobs.
He was supporting police and the military. Do you think Obama (Hillary) did this over the past eight years?
He was promising to wipe out ISIS. You know the guys who beheaded Christians and Yazidis and sent the graphic videos for all to see. You know the guys behind Paris, and Belgium, and San Bernadino, and Florida, and So Carolina. How did Obama and Hillary do on that front over the past eight years?
He was running against someone who lied day after day to the American people, both under oath and in pressers.
He was running against someone who inherited an Iraq taking shape, but turned the whole Middle East into Hell's Kitchen because of weak and ineffective policies.
He was running against a woman who lost an ambassador and three brave rescuers who she didn't have the foresight to protect in the most dangerous region of the Middle East, made that way by her assassination of a guy who kept Lybia together and had gotten rid of his WMD years ago in the wake of Reagan's toughness. Then had the balls to tell the parents of the fallen that she would find the person who put out some video that had nothing to do with anything and she knew it (and told her daughter so the day after the Benghazi slaughter).
He was running against a woman who enriched herself to the tune of $ 250 mil by selling access to any tin pot millionaire who would fork over the dirty price.
He was running against a woman who used insecure home bathroom closet servers to exchange and store the most secretive and sensitive information. And then wiped clean 33,000 e-mails AFTER the FBI subpoened said e-mails.
Man, I could go on for hours.
On what basis was she going to win? None to minus none.
Not such a bad bet if you thought independently of the noise.
Heck, I got 2-1 too.
