So if i owned this stock and wanted to sell, this means I would have to sell @ the bid price, correct? and if i decided today i wanted to buy the stock, it would cost the "ask" price?

Would one ever get in a situation where say they owned 850,000 shares and wanted to sell it all at the bid price, is there any reason that order would not be executed? Meaning if i sell 850K shares, that doesnt mean some other investor(s) are buying those 850K shares right?

I would hate to get in a position where it looks like i am making a profit on paper but am unable to sell. I remember Bill Gates speaking years ago talking about how his net worth was shewed because so much of it was in Microsoft stock and he said he couldn't sell large chunks of it because if he did, the stock would sink fast making it more worthless.

Now i understand that example and what I would be doing are 2 different ends of the spectrum as I am sure he own 100 million shares of a blue chip stock. But if i bought I want to be able to make sure I can sell.

Sell at the bid buy at the ask.
if you look on your post with the bid/ask you will see x200 which means you can sell up to 200 shares at that price.
If you have access to a full level 2 screen you can get a good idea how much you can sell a large volume of shares for. After you sell off your first 200 shares at that bid price if you sell with a market order it will automatically sell to the next entry on the level 2 screen for the next price. It's the same in reverse for the ask.
on the bid side of the screen it shows the highest price first down to the lowest which basically means the more you sell the cheaper it sells for. On the ask side of the screen it shows the lowest price first then goes up which basically means the more you buy the higher the price gets.

So that's the catch. If i had a large chunk, then as i try to sell it, the price will keep going down. So if I am selling 1,500 shares, that means somewhere on the other end, someone/ or a combo of people must agree to be buying 1,500 shares? This is where I am confused because when I am buying, I always got the feeling I was buying from shares outstanding not from someone selling.

Are access to level 2 charts free? I guess this is why you can't buy a million shares at $12.31 and sell a million shares @ $12.32 and just keep doing that over and over.

I'm on an iPhone so I can't write a long post.
your getting part of the picture but I left out a lot of things in my op.
i will answer the questions better when I'm on a computer.
but you can get free access to level 2 screens if you have an online brokerage account.
the level 2 does not give you the whole picture but it gives you a great idea.

This is what everyone is talking about when they talk about if a stock is liquor or not liquid.
tat has x200 on the top line of the level 2.
a company like Microsoft might have x10000 on there top line

This stock is officially on fire now.

Good stuff, wish I got more of it but up over 25% since I bought.

What do you think of getting more right now Chop? It seems like it has tons of room to run as the shorts are finally running for cover in their battle with Frost which was pretty lengthy.

Anyone have any thoughts on paid stock picking websites? I have to assume many or all of them are BS as they would tell their subscriber list to buy abc company when they may already own it and then when all of those that start buying it and the price goes up, he will sell his or pump and dump.

Does this about some it up?

By the way, choptalk, the book you referred me came in today.

yea its kicking ass.
I made a ton of money on this stock but I could have made more.
Instead of selling 70% of my position I should have bought more. I did not sell because of anything to do with OPK. I sold simply to lock in over a 200% profit. I got in when the stock was less then $3 a share.

Im happy for all the people in the thread that followed along and made some great money.

Im not giving any advice on when you guys should sell.
Thats a personal decision.

I started this thread when it was 3.41.
So if it goes down to 0 one day I hope nobody will get upset with me.

But I think it has a better chance of hitting $30 then it does 0.

I ultimately think OPK will get bought out by a major company. This is what has happened with all of Frost companies in the past. No reason to think this one will be any different.

Frost is still buying this stock like crazy. So all the reasons for buying this stock in the first place are still in play.
Only difference we are now starting to see what is in the pipeline. And this stuff is about to hit the market like the new testing kit.

Only reason im not totally pissed is because I still have a nice position in OPK and the money that I made off the OPK sale was put into another great trade that is doing me very well right now.

Nice Pick Chop. I Think You are right with the thinking of insider trading, and especially the history on Frost.

You need to be more open with us! We are all adults here.

Hell, we bet sports, why not the stock market! its definitely manipulative, but your research has proven well.

I enjoy reading your perspective on this

Thanks!

Broke that 52 week high today, Chop. That's what my "there she goes" comment was directed at. Kindof into uncharted territory now. Gotta be smarter than me to know where the next resistance level is. It's a nice problem to have.

Thats what im saying.
The new resistance is the 52 week high.
Once it hit that 52 week high it met strong resistance.
I think if it ever closes above the 52 week high 2 days in a row we could be in for who knows what.

This is a very important time in the history of OPK from a technical trading standpoint if you subscribe to that kind of trading.
