bucs, the point (at least from my perspective) is that some book is selling our personal information. that is totally unethical.

whether i can easily make these moronic phone calls stop is irrelevant. the fact that these idiots, or anybody else, can get my phone number is not cool.

Shrink and all here,
No sportsbook sold Jack Price anything. He calls the entire US phonebook using voice over IP.
JoeyBags, 555-tellme got crushed doing toll free scores and suffered big losses on the sports end of it. Please do not offend me or anyone else saying they dont use the info for something else. FANDANGO buys and sells lists all day long.

anyone wanting off the JP list. There are three ways to do this. Hit the # sign when he calls or #2 email me your phone numbers and I'll take them off myself. #3 sign up on the federal do not call list.

there is NO WAY he got this from anyone else but an offshore book, period!

shame on me for using my real phone number when signing up offshore. lesson learned.

You guys deserve credit for one thing--you have to be the most tenatious businessmen in the United States. if you channeled all of that energy towards anything else that you decided to pursue, you would have been even richer in whatever business you chose.

For all here

Anytime you call an 800 number or a 900 number your number(ANI) shows up blocked or not.

Hey Jonny DeMarco-
I suggest you get your facts straight before talking... It's rather apparent you know next to nothing about Tellme, Fandango, nor either of our businesses. We didn't get "crushed" as you put it, did we spend $ to provide those free services, yes, did we "lose big $ on the sports end of it" NO! Content is much cheaper than you think... Since we are a privately held company I wont say much more, but rest assured you are wrong. Don't you think if we collected # that I would be shilling for Tellme in the forums? well you can go back and check my posts for the last few years and notice that I've never once told anyone to call our service... And just an FYI, we havent spent(in terms of cash) one cent on that service since 2000...

I just got my first call ever... I'm trying to think what I've signed up with lately with my phone number... Anyone know the likely culprit?

Johnny De, All you want are people's numbers to either A)Sell to other touts or B)Start your own tout business. Which is it?

There are probably many ways they get them but I can gaurantee that one way is the 1-800-555-8355 score phone.

I know this because, one night I used my girlfriends cell because the battery was dead on mine and about a week later she got the recorded phone call back. No sportsbook has that number and no other number was called with that phone. Finally, we are in Canada so Jack didn't get our number from the phone directory, he got it from that scorephone.

Seems cut and dry to me.

Yep ... That's how they got mine too. I just registered my cell on the "do not call list." I hope that helps. I sure as hell am not going to E Mail my cell number to some stranger in this forum.

Hate the River,
Since this is a gambling forum, and you are so sure about this, would you like to place a small wager? You can choose the $ amt....

PS. yes, I can prove it.

Joey.. sure thing. How about we send the money to a book (Royal will hold it) then I'll show a third party who is unbias of course a copy of the cell phone bill.

What you obviously don't understand from my post is

1. I made one and only one phone call using her phone and that was to 1-800-555-8355.

2. It is a Canadian Cell phone number and is unlisted.

So explain to me how they would have the number, and before you answer reread #1 and #2 again.

Thanks

I've got two scorephones programed into my cell. I'm not sure if Tellme is one of them. I NEVER got a tout call until I used the scorephone. Joey would you care to post up your personal cell number ? Maybe it would be a pain in the ass to get put on some list huh ?

AT&T had stock in your company and gave toll free minutes to get it-you told me that yourself over at MW. If the toll free scores business is so great how come you don't do it anymore? Oh yeah, the toll free minutes ran out.

Serious question to all. What sportsbook would give clients numbers away? Think about it. Do you have any idea how hard it is to get clients to begin with? How much it costs?

I have an idea for you. One of you clowns take your wife's cell call a sports book and just hangup. See if you get called on that line. This is not rocket science.

Hate(r) the River Card,
So you're telling me that only one call was made from that phone EVER? I dont buy it for a minute. Why would we want to sell phone #s to touts? How does that fit into a companys business model that only has fortune 500 companies as clients to sell phone numbers to touts? We were never in the toll free scores business, we bundled content on a toll free number to display our network. Nothing more, nothing less. It was never thought of as a money make it was more or less a showcase if you will. I challenge anybody on this forum when they get a new cell phone acct to make your first call to tellme, dont make any calls for a week. After that week if a tout or any other unsolicted telemarketer calls you, I'll send you a dime? deal?
