It's big to keep Aru back as he's a threat in tomorrow's rows stage 18. So far , so good ! We don't want Bardet or Uran to catch leaders however.

go away Uran!! LOL

What a huge closing surge right at line by Froome to nip Bardet for 3 rd place. It looked like Froome would lose 4 seconds to Bardet but instead Froome gained 4 seconds on Bardet. I think Uran takes over 2 nd

Tomorrow is final chance to try to take the Yellow Jersey from Chris Froom. It's a mountain top finish so anything could happen. After a grueling day high in the mountains today, who knows what's left in everyone's legs ? I will comment more on tomorrow's stage later. Just a great day of racing today. I think we saw the answer to whether Landa would be working for Chris Froome ! Great Teammate today ! Go Chris !

Stage 18 is not actually as tough as stage 17, but because of it's mountain top finish it could be more threatening to Chris Froome. It is really important that Froome hangs onto at least some sort of lead even if it's one second ! Why ? The Yellow Jersey get to have the hammer last start in the time trial. That is a huge advantage as He will know what time he has to beat more or less !

stage 18

Team Sky showed the world once again how powerful they are. Able to control the peloton with Kwiatkowski's blistering pace. Then Landa taking over. Sky was the only team to have two riders in the GC group for the last 20 km's or so. And when attacked, Froome was there to answer. Simply fantastic. If they lead the peloton tomorrow , who can stop them? Kwiatkowski toed DEEP into the last ascent, not sure what he has left for tomorrow.

Aru- imo, TOAST
Uran- does this guy ever attack? lol. What's his plan tomorrow?
Bardet- he ain't beating Froome in the TT. So, tomorrow must be his day

Tomorrow's stage will start out rather easy before finishing with a steep uphill finish. I think a breakaway cyclist will win the stage as none of the main GC contenders will be interested in chasing. I see some all out attacks on the final climb. Should be a great one to watch tomorrow! looks like Team Sky wants the same script. They lead the peloton

'Chris Froome earlier told letour.com: "It's an iconic mountain. It's going to be the decider. Izoard is the Mont Ventoux of this Tour de France. If there's an opportunity, I'll go for the stage. With Mikel Landa, we have a good chance to play. And if everything goes well today, it will be a big step forward."'

I'm sure Chris Froome would love to win this stage but going for the win does have risks. His main objective is to keep in Yellow going into the TT. Going for the win means he's going to be dragging Uran, Bardet and Aru along also. There's that 10 points time bonus that goes along with the win and we must recall who won that dash yesterday. It was Uran and who wants to let him get 10 seconds ? It's safer to allow the breakaway to gather those time bonuses BUT then are we giving away a chance for Landa to gain a podium spot ? Tough call ! JMHO.
