3 Unit Play on:

Indy E for the 2nd half.(WINNER)

-I have a feeling Indy will score this half, as they are now in a corner and will need to come out and take their chances. I feel Belichick will let them do all the gambling and he will have his Offense do just enough to stay ahead of the Colts till the end.

4 Unit Play on:

Carolina +4(WINNER)

-I still cant stop seeing McNabb winning this game in the end. It seems that I am not alone in this thinking. But last weeks game could be duplicated in this one. The Eagles again enter this one alittle wounded eventhough key players on the Defesive side of the ball are slated to return to the lineup. Most notebly CB Troy Vincent. Still, with all that is on the line, knowing that one of the leagues best defenders against the pass is returning in this one could be true, but how effective and for how long will he be available. I am thinking that the Eagles had no choice but to make him available in some attempt to affect the Carolina run game. Maybe play with their minds alittle. Hey this is for the Super Bowl and you need all the players to have their share of giving you the edge in whatever way you can.

Still, unfortunately for the Eagles, they still need to first stop that strong run game of the Panthers. Then worry about their play action passes. I dont see how one week will make a difference here. GB I feel already softened up the Defensive front of the Eagles, as well as shown the Panthers exactly where the holes will be. The Eagles need immediately help upfront first and not in the back. The line of scrimmage and whomever wins it usually win the game. I give the Carolina Panthers Off the edge here at the line of scrimmage.

Next, who is going to stop McNabb. GB failed to do this last week and he made them pay. Can he do it again to this Carolina Defensive front. Well, I dont think so. This Defensive front is not only tall and big. They are also quick. It is this quickness, that I see making the difference in keeping McNabb in the pocket and preventing him from getting outside where he can hurt even the most stingiest of DB's. Last week GB could not contain him and McNabb got outside and threw a strike for a TD.

For Carolina to be successful, they will need their front 4 to put a clamp on him. I feel this very energetic and talented group led by Julius Peppers can and will be able to keep McNabb right where they want him, and that is in the pocket, and in front of them. Carolina and their good Defensive front wins this battle tonight. Last week Philly OL gave up over 9 sack to GB. Well this Defense of Carolina is much more talented and much more devastating then that of GB. I give Carolina the edge at controling the Line of Scrimmage when on Def. Thus, my selection with Carolina is a no brainer since I have them winning both of the battles at the line of scrimmage and that will be the difference in this game tonight. Look for a close game to the end. Someone will win by a FG, and I'm getting +4pts , so I really dont care who that is. GL and Aloha CC.

UPDATE:

So far starting out great. After the first game, 3-0= +10 units. Now lets bring home the plays for the second game. BTW, the 7pt Teaser shows its value so far, allowing us a .5pt win with Indy and a 1pt win on the Over 37. Gotta love it! GL CC.

2 Unit Play on the ML:

Carolina +175 ML(SU WINNER)

-Guys, I cannot resist not playing the ML here. This will be close game and I have Carolina who I see having more of a team edge, over McNabb who will have to carry the majority of the Eagles to victory. I have a good feeling Carolina could get their Revenge today. Weather looks good, so they do have a chance. Good Luck and Aloha CC.

Co-Captain,

First of all , congrats on the New England game and your posting since I have been on the RX. Regardless of your plays, your time and commitment to this Forum is exemplary, long may it last.

Just as a point of view, I class myself as a careful player but I find it odd that someone of your knowledge would bet teasers.

Dont take this as a slight, its just people who bet teasers usually have no confidence in their picks, hence looking for the extra cover.
I feel that your knowledge of the game, you should be going for the throat.

Aloha Winbet, no offense taken. I will always try to explain why I do something, as best I can. I have nothing to hide. As far as your comment about people who play teasers not having any confidence in their abilities. For some people that may be true. For me, in regards to these games, I felt the line was very sharp and that after capping it out, I was basically left with a feeling that these games could go either way. Sometimes, the lines like I mentioned are so sharp that it makes it alittle difficult in backing one side over the other.

Their is great value in playing Teasers during certain times of the year, as I do not play them every week. During the playoffs, like these where the line is very sharp, I see a value in playing them. Still, as you can see I also as well played the sides and the halftime line for the first game. Still, yes the Teaser for me does as well provide me abit of insurance if somehow things go opposite of what I am seeing. Thats why in these games I am on both sides, especially in the first game, where the extra points provided some outstanding values that I couldnt ignore. These points not only gave me alot of value, it also gave me an opportunity to cap out a game using different numbers. This allows me to sometimes move on to a higher percentage plays in my opinion, something that the straight number wont allow.

Sometimes in certain games, I like to take the control with the points and have my selections be based on the points I put together, instead of being stuck to what is posted by the books. I am not sure if I am coming across in the way that I am trying to. But to answer your last comment. Take a look at my thread and the different plays I put in. I think that I am definately going for the throat, or at least I am trying to. When I see an advantage in my favor, I will definately take advantage of it. But you need to do the work so that you are always prepared for when the opportunity arises.

Lastly, by no means is my decision to play Teasers a reflection of my lack of confidence in playing it straight. As you can clearly see that I also played each game straight as well. I have never heard someone state such a thing, so this was an interesting post. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. If you have anymore questions or like me to comment more on something, dont hesitate to ask me. GL and Aloha CC.

WOW, you can certainly type fast. I have been betting 35 years+ and have that old school approach which is positive thinking. It shows you are never too old to learn new ways. Or is it you cant teach an old dog new tricks.

winbet, I dont think it is that you cant teach an old dog new tricks. I think that your approach to the game in a positive way is definately a way we should all approach a game. I am definately one who believes in the idea, that "thoughts are things", and I constantly refer to books such as "Think and Grow Rich", by Napoleon Hill, in my approach to my sports wagering. These are old thinking, but they are from successful individuals. You are clearly a successful individual as you are still in this game after some 35+ years. I think that it is this old school thinking that is trying to make its way back to us new guys. I am thankful , someone who I respect took the time out to share this type of thinking with me.

I like the idea that you are never to old to learn new ways, as well. The ability to do this with an open mind is a great asset to have. Anyways, I will stop preaching already. I would like to state though that their are some on here who as well have your experience in this game. And they as well see value in betting Teasers, and like me they agree that there are times that it can be played with alot of value.

One of the guys here who I sometimes look to, for some insight or knowledge as he has been around for awhile and have been very successful in betting. He as well is like you who have been at this for some 30+ year. His post name is oldmanTed, and he as well plays Teasers. So I really think playing them is somewhat a old thing that never stopped being a new thing. LOL. Maybe you should ask him about it, he also will help out anyone who ask. He is a very nice and generous guy. Aloha CC.

-Guys, I know McNabb is alittle hurt, but I cant see this Philly squad at home not at least scoring a TD in this game. After that its all FG's for the rest of the game. But I see Carolina getting more attempts and more points. Kasay does it again. GL and Aloha CC.

Again, I cant believe how quick you type, this must also be an old person problem as I am amazed at the noise of the keyboard when my kids type.

I think teasers are obviously an American thing as in Britain, we have not been open to that sort of betting over the years.

I think the outcome of getting older is one of taking chances and learning the hard way when you are young, which tempers your thinking that you dont want to be in them situations ever again. I never thought of it of it till now, but its just like the films, oldboy, loads of experience doesn't want to take a chance, gets beat by younger dude.

Well almost got the sweep today, missed it by 1 play. Still, this playoff run is by far my most successful and profitable one to date. Thanks to all who help me make this possible.
