General...as long as the Colts got that Offense they will always be in every game....But I like the Colts, as well, because they got a Defensive Guru for a Coach in Dungy, and that is a Big Plus....Better to have an average Offense with a Good Defensive Coach...then a Good Offense with a Good Offensive Coach...Perfect example of this is the failure of the St Louis Rams....and the uprise of the Carolina Panthers and NE just to name a few...Good thing about Indy is that they have a good Offense and a Good Defensive Coach...

The start of any good Defensive teams will always start with a Good Defensive Coach...and Dungy is one of the better ones..IMO.

Yeah Culpepper almost made a big play for the Eagles a second ago... I can't believe that guy dropped a sure TD.

Cap, Dungy & Polian may turn out to be a heros. Time will tell. Don't forget Tom Moore either.

M-

I'm on Minny +3.5 and over 50.5 (see my thread).

First punt of the game and it was Minny. Not happy about that.....

I think so...With most of the Offenses key players in place, it will give him more time and focus on now building the Defense more...and this most teams dont have the luxury of doing...Plus, he has a QB in Manning who is practically another Coach...

Minny is one of them that had this luxury this year, because of their Offense is getting a lot of production from nearly everyone in key positions...that they focused almost completely this year on drafting for the defense....I think their first three picks in the draft was on defense...The Colts I see will be able to do the same, and when Dungy gets things in place...Oh Boy, they maybe very very good...But, like you say time will tell, but I think their future looks very bright...

Well that fumble will hurt.

...Damn it!...Still though, I like Minny's chances and how they are playing...Look for more of Moss in the second HF vs those smaller CB's...So far he has caught 5 passes for 55 yards.

Defense wins in this league, period. You have to have playmakers on defense or you're going no where. Teams like Minnesota always start off well and end crappy for a reason. Don't get me wrong, they could cover this game. But my spread sheet has Philly -5.5 so I played it and I have been on pretty on so far.

ChadC..thats good for you...but please dont be talking big, because you got lucky...and you know you did, just like everyone else...And yes I know that Defense is a part of the reason, and not the complete reason why teams wins games...Dont forget this....What is just as or more so important in this league is who controls the line of scrimmage on both sides, as well as, who can run the ball effectively...not just who can play only Defense....and I dont think Defense is the reason why Philly or Minny may win in this game...NO one is stopping anyone, if you havent noticed...Only one punt the first half...so Defense, if that is what your hoping on to win this one...well I wouldn't feel so confident just yet with the way that Minny is moving the ball.

No need to get edgy co-captain, I respect your capping abilities. I'm just saying that playmakers on defense are the difference makers.

ps. goal line stands and causing fumbles are not luck, they are plays being made by superior defenders

I am not getting edgy ChadC....I just dont appreciate when someone wants to talk after the fact and then take credit for it, now its a different story if you came out a stated before hand that this particular playmaker, who you are calling superior, is going to cause a fumble...but you didnt...

Fumbles are just as much a fault of the ball carrier, as it is with a player on defense trying to make a tackle...Who btw, was trying to make a tackle and didnt have in his plan to cause a fumble...The defender was trying to stop the runner from scoring, and in the process the hit caused a fumble...that is luck not the act of something that was planned...There is a big difference.

Like I stated, whomever makes the bigger plays on Offense will win this game, and clearly Minny is not coming up with it...Defense is not present in this one, as teams are moving the ball up and down the field...

BTW, I bet, and take no offense to this, but I have a feeling you have never played any organized football, either in HS or College, right...If you did, then you would know that fumbles usually are not planned by a person trying to stop someone from scoring a TD...The goal is to stop the persons momentum and not allow him to break the plane of the goal line scoring a TD...You go to bring down the man, not to go for the ball...Other parts of the field, maybe, and during a certain situation, difinately, but not on the goal line.

Ok, the ball just came out.... The goal line stand earlier was luck because Brian Dawkins got lucky by tackling Culpepper at the legs....

Oh and I never played football, I was a 6'4" 255 lb. bookworm in school, how'd you guess?

ChadC...first big dont mean a thing...Second, dont be taking credit for something you didnt call beforehand...That is weak!...If you would like to take credit for something like that, then do it in your thread...Talking after the fact is not really a hard thing to do...Dont you agree...Try capping out a game and then state what is to occur before hand and why, before it happens...Then if it comes true, you can talk...That is all I am saying.

And you said this when?....After something happened, and then you came out to take credit for it...All I saw you post in my thread, is on the Vikings defense not being good....Your comment about defense came after the fumble occurred...Anyways ChadC, what I am saying is that there is no sense to come in here and state things after they have occurred...Just post it in your write-up on the game as something that will happen and be the reason for it occuring that way, and I will give you credit for it...not after something happens in your favor and then you want to take credit for it, like the Defense Wins Games Period...Then state to me that your spread sheet has Philly -5.5, with no mention again if your spread sheet stated that the Defense will be the reason for Philly winning...which all should of been stated before the game started.

Like I mentioned, I dont appreciate when someone comes into my threads and start talking after the fact....That is all I said...
