I think Washington starts the season 2-0 with wins at Oregon and home against BYU. That shot put them in the top 25. Jake Locker is going to put up huge numbers this year.

He cannot do it himself.

Do you realize that with the exception of Locker the huskies lost every offensive starter at the skill positions from last years team?

Pretty big assumption that he'll have his timing down with the new guys week one in a hostile environment vs one of the top secondaries in the conference.

I know what your saying about having to do all of this in the SEC...Keep in mind that 1 or 2 losses in the SEC might still keep you in the top ten (LSU, Georgia last season). In some ways LSU is better off than what OSU was last year..OSU had only 5 seniors returning after having 17 the year before..They were perceived as having a weak defensive line and some very young unproven players on offense..And both of the those weaknesses were a little overblown by their critics. They were also picked no better than third in their own conference. Miles is also starting at least 15 junior and seniors mixed in with the youngsters..And this team had 5 blowouts last seasons..Many of these players have seen alot of playing time..BS...I just think this could be a case of underestimation of LSU..Not necessairly that they are a big threat to get to the BCS title game..But within their conference, and the way their schdule is set up, they'll be a dangerous team..And I have a feeling they'll have a say in who wins that conference by who they knock off. I've learned over the years not to underestimate a team who won the NC the year before..There's almost always enough remnants of a past champion left over to make these teams fall less than people perceive..Especially when they're underestimated in the polls.

Guys,

LSU is going to be LOADED on defense this year. The defensive line will be the absolute best in the country and we only lost one linebacker....Highsmith. We are three deep at the CB position and the safety that will replace Steltz is BETTER than Steltz....yep I said it. Watch Curtis Taylor this season because he and Chad Jones will blow some people off the field. Oh, and watch a guy named Charles Alexander on the D-line this season, because people will be saying all season how similar he is to Dorsey.

On offense, the only guy we will miss is Hester....that guy was just clutch last year. Of course now that he's gone you guys will get to see a guy named Richard Murphy. If we get ANY consistent play from the QB position, some of the favorites (UF, UGA and Auburn) will get the suprise of their lives.

I predict that LSU wins the West and meets UF in the title game. At that point, it's going to depend on injuries incurred over the course of the season.

Anybody want to guess how bad UF will be if Tebow goes down this year? How about Stafford at UGA?

The fact that LSU has had such outstanding recruiting classes in the last few years under Miles should keep you guys in the top 10 on a consistent basis. That's why I was a little surprised to see the defending champs at #11 in the country, and say a team like USC in the top 5, who actually have less starters returning and the same amount of lettermen coming back. I don't really see an advantage there. Especially considering you still have alot of skill players returning on offense. Pete, the only two questions I had about your Tigers this season is your back seven on defense..Namely your linebacker corps..And how much are you going to miss Bo Pellini?

UW's D is gonna get shredded on a regular basis. I expect them to compete in most games and have a chance to win a few they will probably lose. Locker will probably will them to at least four wins. Anything above that would be a surprise. Their schedule is just not going to help them get to six and a bowl game. Something the program desperately needs.
