I think he feels he still has something to prove (for some reason) and that's good for the Patriots. I don't think he'll retire after a bad year statistically, although I do think it may be time for the Patriots to start preparing their next QB

Seems accurate to me, he's already into territory agewise that is pretty much unmatched, he can't need the money, just risking his health now.

Win it this year, well technically it would be like late January/ early February, whatever and quit at a high note.

I'm sure there are guys in the league that would love to be the one to end his career by whatever means, this isn't tennis, you can get seriously hurt even accidentally in the NFL.
