As a Patriot fan, I'm stunned.

I thought for sure that he would finish with the Pats.

Good luck, Tom. Thanks for the good times. We were lucky to live in New England while you so deftly led our teams.

The best is gone.

The Pats won the superbowl 13 months ago. It was not that long ago.

So of course they should've kept Brady over Jimmy. Not like Jimmy is reminding everyone of Montana in SF or anything.

What they should've done is kept Jimmy G. Tom would've still been there and probably leaves at this point anyways.

You think he would stay on the Pats for 2 more years when he could go to SF and make 30 mill? He wanted out and he wanted to start.

There was no other result at the end of 2017 so they dealt him mid-'17

Pretty much everyone in this scenario made the correct decision for themselves.

If the Pats just paid him wouldn't he have stayed? It is good faith he is going to start fairly soon

Pay him 30 mill to be a backup for 2 years?

What?

Even if you take $ out of consideration, the guy came into the league in 2014, he wanted to start.

Brady has gone full diva lately on social media, and I'm not sure why. I always thought his tireless work ethic, hunger to win and quiet no-nonsense professional approach set him apart from other QBs who clearly had more talent. Brady is the NFL's GOAT because he did it the Belichick way. I think he should have swallowed his pride and finished his career as a Pat, but if he was asking for the moon and expecting the Pats to bend over backwards for him, Belichick was right to let him walk.

Even though he's on the decline, watching Brady in another uniform is just wrong. He won't win another Super Bowl, TB's D is Swiss cheese.

Sadly, for whatever reason, Brady's ego got the better of him. He may believe he's still the NFL's best, but clearly that torch has been passed to Patrick Mahomes.

9 Super Bowls, 6 titles, 4 Super Bowl MVPs, 17 division titles - an incredible run for the GOAT!

Will we ever see that again?

I know Brady didn't look great last year and maybe I am holding onto the resume rather than the player but Tampa does seem like a really good fit. Very good receivers, a tight end that has shown a ton of potential in the past and a coach that has done more with less at the QB situation. Got an MVP caliber season out of Palmer in 2015.

Their defense played better as the year went on as well. NFC definitely looks much better than the AFC right now though.

Tampa needs to find a running game in order for this to work with Brady....this offense he's going into way different. Arians type of offense NEEDS that versatile RB who breaks the tackles and catches passes a top RB not what they have....I thought Ronald Jones was going to be that guy he flashed some late last season, but not sure he can fill that role as needed. Arians offense can really careless about the TE as you can see last season. I know Leftwich has been given the role to call plays, but end of the day it's Arians way. They need to find that RB or combo of backs that can make the difference or Brady will be hobbling for his life there

If they signed Ray Rice, he got back on HGH and him/Brady combined for a 16-0 season it wouldn't shock me the way 2020 is going.
