huhactually not.. The dragging out the process after leaving NE , the ultimatums getting Jimmy G out of NE, now this , trumps Rodgers by far
thats' not even taking into the account all the lying he did with deflate gate
Not even pointing this out as a big deal to me , just like I don't think Rodgers is some drama queen either.. Rodgers wrapped up his contract situation in two weeks , or any of the other knit picking that Avocado keeps pointing to in every single thread..huh
Brady was playing 2018 and 2019 with NE and Jimmy was a FA, of course he was gonna be gone. There was no soap opera to that.
Don't see how leaving NE was "dragged out" either, that happened pretty much right after the 2019 season ended
As far as this, he retired for a month and decided against it. Yeah it is kinda corny but who gives a shit? Not like he's calling his future a beautiful mystery after a playoff loss lol
Not saying it wasn't debunked , but that was an emberrasing press conference with that subject. Most thought he wasn't being honest..ok but he didn't do the things you said he did
deflategate was also basically debunked but whatever
So you're saying their was no friction or a disagreement between Bill and Brady over Jimmy G being shipped out ? Brady ,if I remember wasn't giving anyone a timetable how long he wanted to play..Bill thought Jimmy was the QB for the Pats future.Well, once Jimmy is a FA (after the '17 season) only 1 of them is gonna be on the team. You're not gonna keep both, Jimmy isn't gonna comeback as a backup when other NFL teams would start him and pay him good money. That isn't any kinda ultimatum, it is just reality only 1 is gonna be on the team. Jimmy wanted out, he wasn't gonna be a backup anymore.
I guess Brady didn't handle deflategate great but that was a weird ass story and now that it has basically come out that balls can deflate in bad weather and it was a stupid witch hunt where the NFL likely knew they were wrong but was just too prideful to back down, you can see why he was basically blindsided by the whole thing.

Maybe the wrong word , but Brady got his way on that one.Brady wasn't retiring after the 2017 season. Once he says that, NE (Kraft/BB/whoever) had to decide between Brady and Jimmy. Obviously NE wasn't getting rid of Brady when he had a few years left vs Jimmy Garapollo.
After 2017, they couldn't really be on the same team at the same time because both obviously would need to start.
Maybe there was friction because BB wanted to keep Jimmy, but that isn't any kinda ultimatum.

Did Brady have years left on his contract ? Or at that time , signed on for a long term deal ? I don't remember
I think he did legitimately retire, though I think the Niners stuff was a little more than smokeI can't help but wonder if he was coming back all along and just hoping Tampa Bay made a move for a QB earlier (Jimmy G), opening the door for him to go to the 49ers without looking like the bad guy. Now with free agency starting tomorrow and Gronk/Jensen looking elsewhere he knew he had to announce his comeback to try and keep the gang together.
