Pricesmart had a Sony VGN for c550,000 (with English keyboard and English Vista). Same laptop on Amazon was $700 with more memory and larger harddrive.

Actually Sony VAIO VGN-NS140E/S is $799 on Amazon and c549,000 at Pricesmart. Quite a decent price, only $200 premium. Although Amazon is 3GB RAM/250GB HD, Pricesmart is unspecified RAM (2GB I hope! 1GB I'm afraid)/200GB HD.

If I decide not to go ultra-portable subnotebook I'll pick it up. In English too.

Did you know you can specify different languages per user with Vista Ultimate? My home desktops are *loud* and just using on-board graphic chipset. Was considering just buying quiet fans and graphic cards, but I'm not sure they're up to spec for Vista, and that's a pretty cool feature. Although I could wait until Windows 7 comes out.

Trick? Who needs a freakin' tuner these days. I don't use the one on my TV.

you are probably right but wouldn't you be pissed off if you just shelled 2k or more for a TV, go home, try to plug it to a basic cable service and ....it won't work :lolBIG:

I have satellite but I still use amnet basic/no digital, regular service so I still like my tvs....to be tvs

Back in April I got a U305-S2804 laptop in the US for 650 (including an extra gig of RAM) , they had plenty more and as soon as I got back I regretted not buying 3 more but then I came home and saw great prices at Office Depot

Its a 13'' , Trish got a 17'' for about the same price, I prefer portable she prefers big screen, the keyboard in mine is its weak point, I will probably have to buy a replacement in case it breaks because its far from 'top notch'
