I think that most know about NE and what they bring and what to expect. But it is McNair the Co-Mvp and number 1 ranked qb, which will make all the difference in the success or failure for Tenn. So in this one, it is smart to wait on his complete physical status for this one. Remember, he will not only have to deal with that nasty Def of NE, he will also have to deal with the nasty playing conditions as well.

patriots won the first encounter by 8 points with key players hurting. they now healthy. temperature going to be about zero degrees maybe lower with wind chill. could be tough for mcnair and george to get the old ankles, calf, shoulder and whatever else is hurting. patriots ran all over titans last time with the immortal mike cloud leading the way. pats off a bye vs titans who had physical game against the ravens. pats have given up an average of 4 points a home game last two months. lay the 6 collect the money

I wouldnt be scared to take the under in this game. McNair is going to hobbling around with two bad ankles. The Pats D will find ways to exploit his injuries. Nobody puts up points at New England. Tennesse has the most over rated run defense. They are one of the best statistically against the run, they also set a record for fewest rushing attempts against their D. I like New England to win, but Im going to tease this one.

Overated? the Pats have given up a grand total of 3.2 pts per game their last 5 home games includng 3 shutouts....Tenn. has given up and avg. of 22.6 pts. per game away their last 5...The Pats also scored 31 pts. against the Bills the 2nd rated D in football their last game.
The last time the Pats played Tenn. they had 25 players on the injury list...25!!!
Defensive starters Ted Washington,Ted johnson,Willie McGinest and Mike Vrabel did not play.....This week the Pats injury list is 0 ZERO the first time all year.
I don't know what fxckin game you guys watch but the Pats don't need a running game against that sieve of a secondary of Tenn.
Oh by the way the Titasses are 0-2 in weather below 32 degrees...Its supposed to be -5 to +5 degrees with a wind chill of -20 to -30 degrees. wait till Eddie George gets wacked on the shoulder by Rodney Harrison, its going to feel like a cold, cold razor at Gillette

One more thing as I red these blasphumous post.
Tom brady is:
3-0 in playoff games.
7-0 liftime in overtime.
14-1 in games that have been settled by 6 points or less.

Mcnair McShnair all I hear about is how he plays hurt...Is he ever healthy??
The first month of the season Brady would have to have his elbow drained because it was the size of a softball (saw a picture of it in the paper) but the national media dosen't come all overthemselves like they do woith Mcnair.
He can have the mvp trophy...Brady will take the ring.(2nd)

Patriot,

14-1 in games that have been settled by 6 points or less.

Titans 24, Patriots 14.

Looks like the close game theory doesn't come into play here. Enjoy the games.

How much will this make a differance, espescially on the total:
quote
NFL mandated that not just between the hash marks be replaced, but the entire field. This turf was delivered and installed yesterday in 4 ft. width & 20 ft. length. Bellchick worked the team out on the new turf last night, evidently pieces were coming up all over.

Mr. Bing,

In addition, NE has already beaten Tennessee early this season, 38-30, "but we can throw that out the window (Denver 31, Indi 24 anyone)."

One of the best statements made in this thread. (Except it was 31-17).

this weekend is going to be chalk city in all four games. I think this line is a little high but still would not go against NE. Gl all.

Stats from the Pats/Titans game earlier in the year.

Pats Rushing yards: 161
Titans Rushing Yards: 70

Pats Passing Yards: 193
Titans Passing Yards: 372

Pats Total Yards: 354
Titans Total Yards: 442

The Pats forced Tennessee to attempt 6 FG's last time out. I don't remember much of the game, but it looks like Tennessee moved the ball at will. They had about 100 yards more total offense. The Pats had 220 kick off return yards compared to the Titans 135 so it looks like a lot of the Pats points were set up by special teams. If Tennessee fixes the special teams problems they have a great shot.

As far as the weather goes, it's been a high in the 30's with lows in the teens/20's all week in Nashville so the weather shouldn't be a factor.

The only reason I could take New England in this one is because they had a couple of more days to prepare than Tennessee and may be healthier. But 6 points is way to many.

Tennessee 17
New England 16

I am a die hard pats fan in maine, but haveing a line set at 6 1/2 as of last night on wsex is way way to much , i am going to the game snowmobile suit and all, and think pats will win, but wont besurprised if tenn wins they are one of those teams that just win and jeff fisher as a great coach as is bill on the other side game sould be -2 1/2 at most, die hard pats fan but always always bet with your head not your heart +6 1/2 tenn bought 1/2 to +7 1200 win 1000 might hit it one more time to 2k

Mcnair is hurt and it was effecting his throws last week. George was running well off tackle but the ravens were playing backups at some key positions{end and olb} which really helped them move it on the ground. N.E. has the situational edge being home and off the bye while Tenn comes off tough fought road win. NE is the healthier team. NE has allowed just 1 td at home in the last 75 possesions against them. While 6pts looks inviting with a good titans team , this is one trap I will have no trouble passing on. NE-6 gets the money and moves 1 game closer to super bowl sunday.

3peet
quote:
Biggest trap if i ever saw one. I mean really, New England -6? A fair line should be -1 or -3!!!!!

If you think the Pats should be favored by only a couple points, then the trap is betting on Tenne +6 as you are planning on doing ('LARGE'). A 'trap' means one team seems to be a very obvious spread-beater, so one should bet the other way because the books know something you don't know.

Patriots have proved to me they
are the top team in the NFL, without
question. Vegas seems to think the same way.

Injuries to key players like McNair, who looked awful last week, and George (dislocated shoulder), will kill this team. The Patriots secondary will expose McNair, and I believe the D-Line will pressure McNair and knock him
out of the game before the end of the 3rd quarter.

TITANS 6
PATRIOTS 17.
