Frankie,
Seems like a fair deal. If the situation doesn't change in Panama by February 11th 2005 ( that is the correct date ), then Betpanam will be archived. Forever.
As to numbers : 7 players paid in full, 26 received an installment. Total of 64K. One player has been bailed out by a top notch book as the boys of Betpanam deleted his account after he managed to take a screenshot of it.
This is where I stand so far.
As per the situation in Panama : please send me an email and I will send you the english text of the complaint filed with the attorney general of Panama, which contains all the information, details etc you may wish to know.
A limited group of players, friends of friends, have indeed been bailed out by another sportsbook before Betpanam shut its doors on May 10th 2004. Their names do not appear on my list, they were "squares".
One of the main issue the new administration is being confronted with is the lack of documentation. I had requested several times the old Director of the Junta to seize the db. Remarkably he never followed up. Mind, apart from my request the law obliged him to act in such way.
So far the only certified balances are the ones of the first group I filed for, since we then agreed on an installment plan and there is ackonwledgement from Betpanam of balances owed. All digital documentation is on file. A handful of accounts are also certified being part of the "list" that Cybergaming approved, further to the meeting held on June 15th 2004 between Ricardo Chen ( Betpanam shareholder ), Herbert Young Rodriguez ( former director of the Junta ) and myself. To guarantee the payment of those 23 accounts cybergaming issued a Bank Guarantee of 181K ( 181,702.00 ).
What is currently being done, and I have been asked to help in this respect, is to gather any and all available screenshots that players not included in the above mentioned groups may still retain.
There's so much that went on in Panama since April that I could even write a book about it.
Players have to get paid. And they will. Lets talk about this again on February 11th 2005.
mickj, you hit the nail on the head Sir. I'm out of over 9K on this saga. I could have bought campaigns to generate 50 times the traffic this issue is producing, let alone the time, the headaches, the threats and whatever else has been going on.
