I never get why places like ESPN pay these reporters millions and have them have contracts like pro athletes. I get it with pro athletes. Supply and demand. But there are hundreds of thousands of reporters that could walk into that job and the place wouldn't miss a beat.
I could do that job so easily. Look at Mike Golic; no training whatsoever and they pay him millions. He talks of absolutely nothing. You could pay a guy off the street 50K to come in and do his job. There are Rx posters more interesting than him and Greenburg combined.
The only difference maker ESPN has ever had was Colin Cowherd. Everyone else almost sounds identical. Cowherd is a great story teller. He doesn't sound like everyone else. He tends to get it more and isn't afraid to go away from what all the 1,000 outlets will tell us.
