I think you are missing my point.
There are many out there (before they learned of this wife cheating incident) that thought Tiger was this squeaky clean role model that all children should look up to.

they cover him like that because he is the pga tour.

there is no pga tour without tiger woods. he is the sport.

he could go off and start his own tour, get investors to make his own courses with the tv networks and the pga tour would be dead.

so when you see all of these reports, you have a better understanding why he is the only one who matters.

was reading something saying ratings are down 50 60 percent when woods is out of contention or not playing.

hes the only guy that matters. i dont care if its that way or not but just how it is

I think the point is that he came out in his big interview and said due to his counseling he was "more centered" and calmer and would get too high or too low on the course, and then proceeded to immediately lose his temper at a bad golf shot.

Now, a cynical person may think Tiger's counseling was just a PR stunt, and he is still the same jerk he always was, and his interview last week only adds another level of hypocrisy to Tiger's persona.

That doesn't mean he can't be called out for being a jerk.

I used to be a fan of his. Then my self respect kicked in and said "I can't back this guy and his act any more."

Stand for something or fall for everything.

I've always believed no athlete should be a role model. Obviously there are ones throughout history who are the exception to the rule, but you can find better than guys who play a game for a living.

Bingo... the reason it should be mentioned is because in every interview he has made a point to say how different he will be on the golf course and will be setting examples for the kids. You could really see that Zen like mentality out there.

Birdie Alert

ON THE GREEN: Never a doubt here. Tiger hammers in the birdie putt that had some cheeky movement to get his first birdie of the day.
TIGER ON THE DAY: Even thru 7.
