ALERT: I admit that I am old fashioned and whatever, but I have a balls-on take on this.
The world and especially the sports media are sooooo anxious to crown someone as the next "greatest of all time" they repeatedly get ahead of themselves. I have pointed this out accurately for years. Lebron is another example. Maybe someday he will be nearly as valuable as Michael was.... but that time is not now or not yet.
Tiger is and has never been close to Jack. He was ordained to be "The Man" way before he deserved such consideration. In his career if he had to plays guys who really yearned to win and understood how.... he would not have gotten as far as he did. I am referring to players like Tom Watson, Lee Trevino, and a few others. In those days you could not get filthy rich and famous by just hardly winning at all like you can now. Guys get lazy and entitled easily. That leads to behavior such as Tiger's family problems. All because he thought he was entitled to be "The Man" just because of his money and the undeserved press worship he was receiving.
Before some moron starts in.... this has NOTHING to do with color. Other than the fact that color may have made the problem worse because folks were slower to ever criticize Tiger under any circumstance, as they were afraid to be labeled racist.
P.S. flashmo you are probably very accurate with the PED mention. People don't seem to want to discuss the obvious change in Tiger's body. The reason I mentioned already probably being the case.
