Stanford vs. UCLA
UCLA-6

The UCLA Bruins (14-4) is an impressive 4-0 ATS and 3-1 SU versus the Stanford Cardinal (12-5) the past three seasons and I expect we see it earn a nice win at home here. The Bruins struggled in a 69-74 loss at Utah in their last game and I expect major motivation to win big in this spot. Stanford is just 5-5 SU and 4-5 ATS versus teams with a winning record this season. UCLA is 9-3 ATS as a favorite and is a sterling 11-1 on home court this season. Stanford is indeed coming off back to back wins but both were on the road and I expect a letdown here. It will be hard for the Cardinal to keep up with a Bruins team that is averaging 87.2 points per game at home this season. Stanford is averaging 71.6 points per game on the road. Consider laying the points with UCLA.

Cold vs. cold tonight in Columbus, and I am not talking about the outside temperature, as both Illinois and Ohio State enter this game riding 4 game losing streaks.

Someone has got to emerge with the band-aid to stop the bleeding, and my money is on the host, as OSU is at least at home for this one, and the Buckeyes have gone 12-1 straight up on their home court this year.

Illinois is on a 2-6-2 spread slide their last 10 lined road games, and the host in this series has been able to win and cover the last 5 series meetings.

The Buckeyes also happen to be 8-3 against the spread their last 11 Big Ten games.

Yes, on paper this is a lot of points, but there is only one way to play this one, and that is to side with the host to get healthy at the expense of the poor-traveling visitor.

Buckeyes by double-digits for the win and cover.

My Bonus Play is on UCLA laying the points against Stanford in Pac 12 play tonight, as I've enjoyed seeing the Bruins' maturation process this season - both live and on national television - and think they'll have no trouble with the Cardinal.

The fact they come in after a five-point loss at Utah, an unexpected setback in Salt Lake City for the No. 25 Bruins, has me even more intrigued with this game, as UCLA will be looking to bounce back at Pauley Pavilion. The 74-69 loss at Utah came two days after a 13-point win at No. 21 Colorado.

Last weekend’s two games was the first time this season we've seen UCLA limited to less than 80 points in consecutive contests. So with this one at home, I think we're going to see UCLA's offense re-energize for tonight's game. In its five Pac-12 contests, UCLA has averaged 81.4 points per game with a 45.4 percent shooting clip. UCLA has also outrebounded its opposition in Pac-12 games by more than five rebounds per contest (+5.2).

Since the start of the 2005-06 campaign, the Bruins have won 14 of 17 meetings against Stanford, including last year's two showdowns. Lay the home chalk tonight, as they rebound from last week's loss to Utah for a huge win tonight.

It has been a while since Alabama has been able to notch a straight up win against Florida, as the Gators come to town having won 7 in a row and 9 of the last 10 series meetings. That is not to say the Tide hasn't been close, as Bama has covered the last 3 with the points, and 5 of the last 8 overall with the pointspread, but I don't think that will be the case on Thursday, as the Alabama ship is taking on far too much water this season.

The Tide is not rising, in fact it is ebbing to a tune of 3-5 their last 8, and just 2-5 against the spread in their last 7 on line.

Meanwhile the Gators have been riding high, winners of their last 9 in a row, and the Florida defense has been the main reason why, as the stingy Gators are allowing under 59 points per game for the season.

Expect the looks to be tough for the home team, and expect the Gators to be able to stretch the margin before this one is in the books.

Take Florida as the road favorite.
