If I am 3 handed with blinds that high compared to the stacks at the table I am pushing with a WIDE range of hands, the blinds are just worth too much, you are paying 1050 for 1 orbit which is way too big of a percent of your stack to not pick off blinds. In that exact situation when I am utg/button 3 handed I am pushing all in with any pair, Ax,most likely any 2 face cards, and maybe even suit connectors, worth the risk because of the blinds. This has to be a turbo sng right?

no doubt turbo sng....so QJ is a insta-push for you? That is good until the AJ guy calls and I'm out of the tourney....really frustrating at times....

understand, but the blinds make you play a certain way in these situations, QJ is a favorite over 2 random hands so its a push, especially when you are adding 25% of your stack AND if the guy has AK your still not a huge dog

thats another odd one shdw, these people play at $75 SNGs? I need to move up. Your the one person he shouldn't be messing with and AQ is not a hand you want to push it all in with, very bad play by him

You just got unlucky...
If its any consolation and im sure its not but the asshole who called ya with the 95 has played 66 tournys this month and won a grand total of $95 giving him a ROI of -63%.
Your a winning player just blow it off and jump back in the saddle at sunrise....

F me in the goat ass, just played a tourny with 1700 people, finished 120th, had 9.5k and the blinds were 5/1000, I am in late position and donkenstein in the middle min raises to 2k I shove, folded to him and he calls with KJo against my JJ, sweet right. OF COURSE F'N not, I wouldn't be making this post otherwise right. Hit K on fn turn and instead of 22k I am out and get a small payday. I swear one of these days my cards are gonna hold, I am getting deep in most tournys just can't close the door, variance says eventually my cards will hold for a nice score instead of just cashing

Your right ofcourse . 1st in a tourny usually pays somewhere around 250-1 so if you go 249 without a win then get 1 you will be ahead.
But there has to be something else that keeps guys like me and you looking for that win once evry 3 months or so while there are people cashing every week for big bucks.
We rae playing our good hands just like the book says too and getting very little return on our investment.
So the answer has to be how you play your bad hands.
Doyle says somewhere that anybody can learn to play good hands relatively quickly and win a lil now and then.
What makes a Pro is knowing how to play ur bad hands. How to win chips without cards.

Look the best player in the world IMO Annette_15 won a tourny without even looking at her cards, so that is the big secret to winning at poker...Winning when ur cards dont even matter.

That site i told u about the other day has videos from Annettes WSOP Europe win. Im just now getting to watch them. And im telling you she playing an entirely different game than i am..

Im goiing to try something this week. Im going to play some cheap tournys and after the 1st hour im going to set a goal of playing 2 hands every 10 no matter what cards i have. Im going to concentrate on finding the weak , bad and loose players and try to win hands from them regardless of what i have.
Now i still say she won that tourny without looking because the of the respect the players give her knowing who she is, i fully expect that when im in a $1 tourny and i try to win a pot when the flop comes AKQ and i have 32os that some bad players will be calling me with a pr a 5's ...But if i can get a feel for how its done and develop some techniques it cant help but carry forward once i move up to better players and its got to be the road to consistently winning.

If i start to morrow night ill make a new thread and we'll see how it goes, like i said it will not get good results at low low limits but it will be cheap lessons that will hopefully lead us to the point of not having to hope our KK holds up against 910s every night......We'll be saving those races for the Final Table where they belong!

Anybody else wants to experiment with me or just follow along its got to improve our game , hopefully enough to get over this hump.............and out of these ruts.

PPP I agree with ya, in fact I do this a bunch actually which is why I actually expect to get paid off and so annoyed when I get a guy dominated and he lucks out. Prior to going out with JJ vs KJ I had pushed all in 16x, most the time never called, did get called twice and won both race situations A4 vs KQ and AK vs 77. I was being very aggressive though when I thoughts I could steal blinds, so when dumbass min raises and I push and had him dominated I was pretty happy.
