Why does this come up every World Cup?

Because the ignorant, redneck attention whores bring it up every 4 years. They don't like the fact that their version of football (The "big black men in tights" version) isn't the most popular sport in the World. But for some unknown reason they just can't live witout telling the rest of us how boring they find our sport...

My two favourite sports are football/soccer & baseball. I guess that makes me a pretty damned boring person... :toast:

What a shock that such a simple-minded sentiment comes from a Packers fan.

Go Vikes!

Why does little scoring = boring? Obviously this is someone who does not even remotely understand the nuances of the sport. What about hockey? Not much scoring there but it definitely is NOT boring. I guess Arena Football is this guy's favorite sport.

Argentina scores 6 minutes into today's game = game over after the 6th minute. Turn the game off, bring on the next one here in 30 minutes.

Here in the Sacramento area, tomorrow USA/Italy game comes on at 12 noon local time. The WNBA Sac Monarchs also play at 12 noon.
Guess which game will be televised locally. Yep, the WNBA game. They will show the soccer game on tape delay 3 hours later.

Just stating the facts guys, that's all. I'm sure millions/billions will enjoy the World Cup.

I'd rather watch 8 year old girls attempt to play soccer than cheer for the Green Bay Packers. Wisconsin SUCKS.

Okay so you don't want a scorelss game. Boring. Then you don't want a high scoring game. Boring. I'll tell you today's game was entertaining as anything because of the style that Argentina plays.

Well I'd be pissed as hell if I lived in Sacramento. Enjoy your WNBA game.

We get it. You don't like soccer. Who cares?

Some people don't like baseball, some don't like golf, some don't like tennis, some don't like football, some don't like ice skating, etc...

All these sports have their boring moments, and they all have great moments. To come onto a message board like this and say "this sport sucks," whether its soccer or baseball, is totally childish. Just say that, personally, you don't care for it--for whatever reason.

But, really, nobody cares.

Benny, I'm going back home to Jacksonville this week for 5 days. If you want to go to a bar and watch some of the matches, it would be very cool to watch with a fellow soccer fan. Lord knows there aren't that many of us in America, let alone Jacksonville where dat thare NASCAR is king

Hey Hines...thanks for the offer. Unforunately I work during the day so I wouldn't be able to go. It would be aweomse to go out and have some beers, get drunk, and wach soccer. But there are a few places showing the game..London Bridge downtown, and the Ale House and a few other I believe. It was in the paper a couple weeks ago.

Some great soccer action already!
