I know this comment is going to get everyone in a tizzy, but I'm gonna say it anyway. They should stop making hand guns immediately!

. The problem is all people don't do what they are suppose to do. Then some innocent person gets killed.........

Yep....innocent person gets killed faster when the bad guys try to kill you and innocent person is unarmed.

Or when someone watches the financial channel with a gun nearby :)

Don't get me wrong wolfie.... I love shooting guns I have a few hand guns, rifles and my original Mossberg 12G pump I got when I was 13. The problem is the people today have no respect for human life.... I work in a juvenile detention center, for 24 years at that, and some of the stories I could tell you would make you puke.....
I know you saw the Philly bus shoot em up in the news! ( if anyone can find that video and post it here..) How can we make it possible for those complete idiots to get even near a gun????

and I understand your position too, and I too would like to live in a world without violence, but such a World does NOT exist (NOR has it ever existed in the past) , only normal people with reasonable judgement should own a gun....but fact is people can easily go crazy without warning

I wish I could have a solution, so far I only think if the bad guys DO have guns....I would like to have one too, alternative is that only the true wackos end up with guns.

Kid please be careful and most importantly go out and practice with the thing as much as you can. Make yourself very familiar with the gun and all its quirks.....whatever gun you chose.

I own the Taurus Millenium Pro and have put over a 1000 rounds through it and I love it..Good maintenance will prevent any problems. I also heard they are cheap but definitely have not experienced that.

Got that same one, never a problem and picked it up 6 years ago for 269

And for the mossberg, just to be safe, the first round is non lethal bean bag, second round is non lethal tri-dent rubber bullets, after that it's all 9 pellet 00 buck.

Texasfan-do you have any insight on the beretta px4 storm?

Sorry Jesse, just saw this. No, I don't know much if anything about that particular gun. I've pretty much stuck with the two guns I have now for quite sometime and really haven't been in the market to buy a new one.

Sorry i couldn't help.

Seriously though, a lot of people will buy a gun, put it in a safe or hide it in the bedroom, and think that when an emergency arrives they'll just pull it out and use it.

You need to know how to clear any type of jam, you have to shoot it often, keep it clean, etc. Shotguns are easy, just aim in the general direction.

Right on, my Texas brother.

And since it's reasonable to presume that any intruder to your home is seeking valuables and not you personally, getting him (them) OUT is most important.

Thus a shotgun is best because the simple sound of racking a shell in an otherwise quiet house will shrink the intruders' balls to raisins and you can be assured they will exit the premises immediately.

When someone is breaking down your front door isn't when you want to be flipping through the owner's manual.

True enough, but let's all be honest and admit that no one will be "breaking down our front door" unless they have a specific plan to enter and kill us personally.

If you've got a chance for that level of heat in your life, you might want to first clean up a few relationships before worrying about what gun you're going to have on hand for the contract killer(s).

I bought a Springfield 1911 45 mm in January. Previously, I had no desire to own a handgun. Some incidents in my neighborhood made me wake up. Its better to have one and not need it, than to need one and not have it. I shoot about once a month and feel very confident in my skills. I have since added a CZ 9 mm with night sites and a surefire lighting system, to illuminate a potential target in the dark. The world is a different place today, as noted by many. There are a lot of very desperate/crazy people out there. BOL with your investment!
