I don’t know what to say.
The resident "theologians" at the Huffington Post are trying, once again, to school us on the tenets of religions they know nothing about.
Last week, HuffPo published a ludicrous article hailing Jesus as the "first transgender man."
On Monday, the outlet insisted that Islam revered transgenders, loved them even, until white colonialists stepped in and messed everything up.
The last revisionism was penned by Liaquat Ali Khan, and claims that prior to the "self-righteous Anglican males of the self-assessed superior civilization" arrived in India, transgenders were treated with respect and dignity, serving as "courtiers and councils" and as "security officials in charge of female quarters."
Newsbusters astutely notes that not only does Ali Kahn not provide any source documentation to prove his assertion, but that the roles Kahn claims were fulfilled by "transgenders" were in fact historically filled by eunuchs.
Transgenders? Eunuchs? Six of one, half a dozen of the other.
