Barman hasn't cut lawns in years, last I knew he astutely had built the business up enough to hire help to do said lawn mowing.

Last I knew, he had also cut way down on the doobies... Maybe to nothing...

Careful there....Cannabis is the Most Important meal of the day....but vaping rocks compared to burning.

And yah, don't even own a lawn mower.

I book about 15 hrs a week specialty garden work and outsource an (current) average of 25+ jobs a week to eight different landscapers/tree services/pressure washers/gutter installers

About 2/3 of current income is from my direct advertising/booking work. Targeting next August as my last for hands on labor. Let the younger guys (and several gals) earn while feeding me a reliable %

Hysterical watching the same losers back each other up on their losing equations

The fact that you consider people who use math to maximize their wins and minimizes their losses losers is beyond insane.

By the way, you'd need a horseshoe up your ass to win long term (over 20 years) playing blackjack the way that you play.

They are losers by nature.....not because they use math. And basic strategy is the only way to play and win over long term.....so I'm not sure what youre talking about when you say" the way you play". You think hitting 15 against a 6 is the right way.....then go for it.

oh and to the Reader at Large who knows full well that I am Barman's Canadian alter-ego, I post under no other IDs.

Whoever made up the clever gloss 'Dr Ettiv' deserves credit for their work, not me

OMG. No. Bzzzzzzzzzzt. Even by using basic strategy, BJ is a LOSING endeavor, with -EV. So, there is a very high probability (I'd say 98+%) chance
that over 20 years of playing a -EV game, you are lying your ass off about being a net winner.

The ONLY way to beat blackjack over the long term is to count cards (or somehow cheat?).

Basic strategy just lowers the house edge, it does not eliminate it.

Shit, most blackjack players know basic strategy, and the casinos make millions off of basic strategy players.

98 percent chance huh? Another fact of yours huh?

no way for me to keep track of 20 years and bj is always up and down.....but I'm up over that time and none of your math tells me any different.

First of all, I never advocated hitting a 15 against a 6. I advocated surrendering when the math called for and splitting 8s against a 10. Second, basic strategy is a losing strategy. There is house edge. It's about as close to 50-50 as you can get in a casino but it's a losing bet over time.

Even those that aren't pro MIT card counters can have success at blackjack. You keep beating that drum that your a pro winner and beat up all those all in fest free rolls to prove it to yourself.

All he is really saying is the way he plays is +EV and it is the only worthwhile way to play for him. I feel the same way, that is why I wouldn't really bother playing.

I actually think that business model is fading a little in the US. Just having people sit down and play a fixed odds game for hours on end with no real activity or thinking, with all the technology we have now, I just think people need to be more stimulated than that.

That is why the big casinos have more shows, concerts, nightclubs, etc than ever before.

Vitt you are being rather hardheaded and I'm not even sure what your point is anymore.

It's pretty simple really. I don't surrender hands, I never will and I've managed to do just fine at blackjack without doing it.

these guys think their way is the only way......I'm a living example that it isn't.

Thats it

A living example that what isn't? Youre playing the wrong way.

And if you've played over 10,000 hands then there is a good chance you aren't winning. The game isn't designed for people to win over the long-term.

No, we're saying it's the best way not the only way. Like I said, maybe you do have a horseshoe up your ass and you have won playing the way you do for 20 years, but the odds are against you. I can't imagine why anyone would want to hand the house a bigger edge. It's mind-boggling.
