Betallsports,

I think you were right with your first thought; notice how he missed 71 games in '03. I don't have much doubt that Glaus was using around that time.

D2Bets has a very good list with Nomar and Shawn Green being no brainers in my opinion. Quite a few pitchers have to be in that group, ones nobody really expected.

Yes agree with you as well.

I think you can go down a List of Players, and see when they were Red Hot out of the Blue.
Then look at what they did when the MLB was getting down on these Reports and Tests.

but if they're passing drug tests now, wouldn't the ones from 2003 be equally as easy to pass?

Or is there something I'm missing?

I don't know for sure. But maybe it is easier to Cover Now ?? then Back then.......

You have to remember, these are "Spot" Test ( I think ) I don't think Everyone was Tested.

Unless someone can Dig up any Information on the way they worked it.

103 failed a test? about 400 cheated the test. about 40 are innocent. MLB is a big fraud. Bud Selig is a big liar. MLB is all about 3 run homers , no strategy left. The fans are clueless for the most part.

That sums it up for the most part.

Hope Jr. Didn't

:ohno:If he did, the so called currative powers sure didn't help him. His build never changed either as far as I could tell. If all we read about what the various substanceses will do is correct, it seems as if RP would benefit the most.

So how is MLB so different than other sports? Or even the rest of the country?

While it is apparent that most people strongly support the war on drugs, it is also apparent that it has yet to eliminate the problem. Baseball players are simply the same as everyone else

Again it will be very Interesting when and If the full List comes out.

And there have been some good points brought out in this thread.
But Baseball does not want to Tarnish itself anymore then it has already did.

Yes Baseball Players are the same as you and me. But Being in the Public Eye, changes the whole story.

NFL players are not in the public eye?

To me, the most amazing thing will be if these 100 players have been passing the drug tests over the past five years when there was no understanding of anonymity. If that is the case, there will be no way anyone can say baseball is any more tarnished than any other sport where strength and power is a positive attribute

NFL.....Well that would be a BIG list. Could be that 80% of those suckers wouldn't Pass ANY test.

But I don't want to talk about the NFL in this Thread. Save that One for Another Day :103631605

does that mean you agree baseball really shouldn't be seen as tarnished?

Or do you want private business to keep fighting the war on drugs?

i say david ortiz without question.... here are a few facts of his...

1997-2002 he hit 58hr's in 1477 at bats

then we go with the following

2003: 31 hrs 448 at bats
2004: 41 hrs 582 at bats
2005: 47 hrs 601 at bats

these three years 119 hrs in 1631 at bats... are u really telling me that the guy all of the sudden hits 61 more hrs in just over 150 more at bats than his prior 1500 at bats??? come on, there is no question he had to do something...

Do you have evidence abot Shawn Green or are you guessing. I doubt he was used it.

All the names I posted are just guesses. But look at his HR totals:
95: 15
96: 11
97: 16
98: 35
99: 42
00: 24
01: 49
02: 42
03: 19
04: 28
05: 22
06: 30

The jump starting in 1998 (the McGwire, Sosa year) looks awfully suspicious. And it wasn't like all his numbers went up, mostly just the power numbers.

I'd love for them to retest all the samples like they did Bonds. Remember, he isn't one of the 103. He passed back then.

Union chief Donald Fehr says it is "unlikely" that any more names on the list of 104 players who tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs in 2003 will be released because "Whatever rights individual players had under those agreements have to be respected." [L.A. Times]

I think this is BS, but Figures.....
