FSB,
Let me take a shot ...
I DO understand that one book may have -200/+180 and another may have -200/+185 and so on...
Great point FSB. The main reason for not listing prices is strictly REAL ESTATE ... if we push too much info on the page we lose space ... lost space means less books to shop at ... it the end we felt that approach we hurt the gambler.
Hopefully, the pros outweigh the cons on that decision (plus DickyW is a square and only bets chalk
).
We are considering changing this in the future or possibly adding "color coding" to indicate if it's an 8, 10, 15, 20, 30, etc .. cent line, but that is only in consideration.
"But if this line feed software is presumably connecting to the sportsbooks once a minute to update the lines, then why can it not grab the dog price right as it grabs the favorite price?"
We do have that data FSB, again is was purely a REAL ESTATE decision. If we get an overwhelming demand for this I'm sure we will accomodate it ASAP.
Or would all the 15 and 20 cent books just be upset at having their comebacks listed right next to pinnacle?
Not at all, they're all in the business and realize that if they want business they need to attract customers ... while some 20 books do not have great MLB moneyline, their totals (and MORE importantly their NFL lines) are VERY VERY competitive.
Hope that helps a bit, as always your feed back is greatly appreciated
