The rules of the league state that there is a two day approval period for trades. Does this count for draft pick trades? If so the discussion is moot...

Of course not...I do think anything other than swapping order is too complicated.

[h=1]CHOPPERS SAINTS, RATED BY FOOTBALLGUYS.COM[/h]Edit this team Input another team with the same league settingsYour team is currently being rated by the projections of David Dodds Switch to: Maurile Tremblay Bob Henry Jason Wood

QB: Peyton Manning, Philip Rivers
RB: Arian Foster, Chris Ivory, Ronnie Hillman, Jonathan Dwyer, Daniel Thomas
WR: A.J. Green, Randall Cobb, Cecil Shorts, T.Y. Hilton, Kenny Stills
TE: Vernon Davis, Fred Davis
PK: Phil Dawson
TD: Arizona Cardinals

Overview:
We'll start by complimenting you on your strength at quarterback, receiver, and tight end. As you know, it's very difficult in a competitive league to assemble a team that is strong at QB, RB, and WR, so just about every team will have a weakness. As you probably suspect, we perceive yours to be at running back.
In 2013, that's not an instant fantasy team killer like it might have been five years ago. And in this particular case, we absolutely think you're strong enough elsewhere to overcome it. You've definitely got a good team here, but we'd feel better if we knew you were committed to keeping an eye out for the 2013 version of last season's Alfred Morris, 2010's Peyton Hillis, or 2009's Jamaal Charles.
Players we particularly like on this team include Cecil Shorts, Fred Davis, and Daniel Thomas. We have all these guys ranked ahead of where they are typically being drafted.
Bottom line:
 • With great inseason management, we think you have about a 85 percent chance of making the playoffs.
 • With good inseason management, we think you have about a 80 percent chance of making the playoffs.
 • With average inseason management, we think you have a 69 percent chance of making the playoffs.
In any event, we wish you the best of luck. Here's hoping all your weeks are like week 9 of 2012:
Randall Cobb vs. ARI: 37 receiving yards, 2 TD
Arian Foster vs. BUF: 111 combined yards, 1 TD
A.J. Green vs. DEN: 99 receiving yards, 1 TD
T.Y. Hilton vs. MIA: 102 receiving yards, 1 TD
Peyton Manning vs. CIN: 291 passing yards, 3 TD
QB Summary:
You don't need us to tell you this, but we'll tell you anyway: Peyton Manning should ensure that your production at the quarterback position is among the best in the league. We have him as the #3 QB according to your scoring rules, and we figure he gives you about a 1.9 point-per-game advantage over an average starting QB.
Our projections don't show Philip Rivers as being a top-notch backup, but the issue will be moot as long as Manning stays healthy.
Incidentally, Rivers has what we project as a neutral matchup (WAS) during Manning's bye.
Note that the above "thoughts" were generated by David Dodds's projections. Others have different takes:
Some members of our staff have Philip Rivers ranked as high as 17th, which would make him an above average second quarterback. Heath Cummings defends his high ranking as follows: "The good news for Rivers is that his offensive line can't be much worse than they were in 2012. The bad news is that it doesn't look to be much better either. Rivers days of elite production are behind him but he should have a bounce back year and settle in as an above average QB2."
RB Summary:
We see both your starters at running back as below average. Our projections have Arian Foster ranked ninth and Chris Ivory ranked at #27.
We see Ronnie Hillman as an average third running back. We think Jonathan Dwyer makes a fine fourth running back. We love Daniel Thomas as a fifth running back.
Note that the above "thoughts" were generated by David Dodds's projections. Others have different takes:
Some members of our staff have Arian Foster ranked as high as second, which would make him an above average first running back. Anthony Borbely defends his high ranking as follows: "Foster has averaged more than 1800 yards from scrimmage and has 47 TDs in the last three years. With his high expected TD numbers, I think Foster has a great chance to be the top fantasy RB this year. There is some concern about Foster's back and leg issues, but he was activated from the PUP list and appears to be on target for the regular season opener. While there is risk, I am ranking Foster second to Adrian Peterson because of the huge numbers he has posted year after year. "
Chris Ivory is ranked #20 by some of our writers, which would make him a fine second running back. Kyle Wachtel reasons, "Great combination of power and speed. Heading to a run-based offense. Health is the only obstacle."
Ronnie Hillman is ranked #21 by some of our writers, which would make him a great third running back and even a legitimate RB2. Mark Wimer reasons, "I've been speaking with Cecil Lammey as he's watched the Broncos' early June OTAs/on into training camp, and the word is that Ronnie Hillman looks explosive and polished and that he's been running with the first team extensively. Meanwhile, Montee Ball has looked less impressive and is a rookie playing for John Fox. I've revised my Denver projections based on Cecil's observations and Hillman has vaulted up my running back projections/rankings, while Ball has fallen significantly. This is a camp battle I'll watch closely during preseason games/training camp reports. Hillman was listed first on the depth chart that Denver released during training camp. "
Some of our staffers have Jonathan Dwyer as high as #26, which would make him a great fourth running back and even a legitimate RB3. Mark Wimer's take: "With Le'Veon Bell diagnosed with a Lisfranc injury, Dwyer becomes the likely beneficiary - he'll probably be the lead back in a running back by committee up in Pittsburgh. Isaac Redman would likely also contribute heavily in the RBBC scenario. "
WR Summary:
Nice work here. We like both your starting receivers, as our projections indicate that they give you a combined 1.8 point-per-game advantage over an average opponent in this league. A.J. Green is our third ranked WR, and we have Randall Cobb at #13.
Your bench also looks good. Cecil Shorts looks great as a third receiver; he's a likely flex starter. T.Y. Hilton is also a very nice WR4.
We're not sure that Kenny Stills adds much, as you're already strong at the position and we aren't convinced he's roster-worthy in this league anyway.
TE Summary:
Vernon Davis should be above average as a starting tight end. We have him ranked sixth overall at the position. We also think Fred Davis is a starting quality tight end in this league. He's a luxury.
Kicker Summary:
With Phil Dawson, you should be above average at the position.
Defense Summary:
The Cardinals are probably not a difference-maker at defense, but they should be OK.
When you don't have an elite defense, one option is a committee approach. That is, try to get two cheap defenses whose schedules fit well together. Here are a few teams who we think may be available and whose schedules fit best with the Cardinals', along with the combined schedule that each would create:
Cardinals + Rams = ARI | DET | DAL | TB | JAX | HOU | CAR | ATL | TEN | IND | JAX | CHI | PHI | ARI | TEN | TB
Cardinals + Buccaneers = NYJ | DET | NO | ARI | CAR | PHI | ATL | CAR | SEA | MIA | JAX | IND | PHI | BUF | TEN | STL
Cardinals + Chargers = STL | PHI | TEN | DAL | OAK | IND | JAX | ATL | WAS | HOU | JAX | IND | PHI | STL | TEN | OAK

Schedule and Matchup Notes:

 • Please note that the Relative strength numbers above account for both byes and matchups.
 • Remember that you might have starters on bye in a given week, but still have a high relative strength. This could occur because of favorable matchups, or it might be because you are projected to be missing less production than an average opponent will (your opponents have to deal with byes too).
 • Week 9 presents serious bye week issues for you: Peyton Manning, Ronnie Hillman, Cecil Shorts, Vernon Davis, Phil Dawson, and Arizona Cardinals are off.
 • Week 8 presents moderate bye week issues: Philip Rivers, Arian Foster, and T.Y. Hilton are not playing.
 • In weeks 4, 5, 6, 7, and 10 you'll probably be better off than your opponent, as far as byes are concerned.

Peyton Manning - Peyton Manning had near career best numbers during his first season with the Denver Broncos. With the addition of Wes Welker we could see those numbers grow in 2013. The Broncos are going to use 11 personnel (3WR) as their base set and will work out of an up tempo, no (or short) huddle offense. An increase in the number of snaps will only mean more opportunity for Manning to dominate. His arm strength wasn't quite what it used to be last year but Manning proved he could still play at a high level despite the four neck procedures he underwent in 2011. The team upgraded their offensive line when they add Louis Vasquez in free agency. Denver also addressed the ground game when they selected running back Montee Ball (Wisconsin) in the second-round of the 2013 NFL draft. Protecting Manning better and being able to run the ball in critical situations will greatly help the veteran quarterback.
Philip Rivers - Philip Rivers was one of three quarterbacks taken in the first eleven picks of the 2004 draft. The other two, Eli Manning and Ben Roethlisberger, have two Super Bowl rings each, while Rivers has been unable to lead his team to the big game. Until he regressed in each of the last two seasons, Rivers was considered one of the best passers in the league: up there, for a few seasons, with Peyton Manning and Tom Brady. While he lacks mobility, he stands strong in the pocket, has an exceptionally quick release, and is deadly accurate when he can step into his throws. When the pocket collapses on him, however, he can be pressured into making poor decisions, and he is inaccurate when throwing on the run. His offensive line was atrocious in 2012. It will be completely rebuilt this season with four new starters (only center Nick Hardwick returns), but it remains to be seen whether the results will be any better. His receiving targets should be improved, however, with the return of Vincent Brown from injury and the addition of Keenan Allen through the draft. Rivers was a middling fantasy QB2 last season, but he had been a solid-to-decent fantasy QB1 in each of the four seasons before that, so he does have the potential to outperform his current average draft position.

Jonathan Dwyer - Jonathan Dwyer was the leading rusher for the Steelers last year and may once again be the lead back in 2013. The Steelers selected Le'Veon Bell in the second-round of the 2013 NFL draft to be their lead back but he was injured in the second week of the preseason with a foot injury that could shelve him for over a month at least. Dwyer has battled weight and motivation issues throughout his entire pro career, but entered this training camp in great shape. He's a big back with the ability to grind down an opponent and get stronger as the game goes on.
Arian Foster - Arian Foster is one of the best all-around running backs in the league. He has finished in the Top 4 each of the past three years, reaching a minimum of 1,200 yards rushing and 12 total touchdowns in each year of that span. He will likely be a another high draft selection in many redraft leagues this year. If there is a down side to Foster this season, he is coming off 351 carries and 40 additional receptions. He was worked awfully hard in 2012, mostly because his backup Ben Tate suffered injuries and was unavailable to help ease the load. The 2013 season will feature Foster, but Tate will also be a contributor in the backfield, which could limit his production. Foster recently suffered a calf strain injury in OTAs, which kept him sidelined through most of camp. He has not played a snap in the preseason and could be limited, if not held back for the first few weeks of the regular season. He has bounced back after preseason injuries in the past, but the wear and tear is building up. His status for week one is very much in question after his back recently flared up, also causing pain in his legs. The latest uncertainty surrounding Foster could result in him being knocked out of the first round in redraft leagues. The season hasn't even begun and Foster is already an injury risk.
Ronnie Hillman - Ronnie Hillman is set to be the Broncos primary change of pace back this year. As a rookie his weight dipped below 180 pounds so the team has been working with him to add strength and keep his weight up in 2013. He's the fastest back on the roster and arguably the most dangerous in the open field. Hillman needs to show improvement as a pass protector if he wants to get in the lineup on passing downs. The Broncos have a decision to make with veteran Knowshon Moreno. He's a better blocker than Hillman and could cut into that change of pace role if he stays on the roster.
Chris Ivory - If Chris Ivory can stay healthy, he could be huge for this offense. He can run tough, has shown aggression hitting the hole as well as at the second level, can catch the ball and break off the odd big run. In short, he's like a rich man's Shonn Greene--or at least everything the Jets thought they'd get when they drafted him in the third round. Of course, it comes down to that 'if'. Ivory has been banged up an awful lot--in fact he's never finished a complete season. Ivory has tremendous talent but is definitely someone you can say is injury prone. To drive this point home for potential owners, Ivory recently had to leave practice for a hamstring which had been bothering him all of training camp. Not a good first look for the Jets. The Jets are desperate for backfield help and are praying he stays healthy enough to be the guy, but so far things do not look promising.
Daniel Thomas - Fumbles and concussions pretty much were the story for Daniel Thomas in 2012. Because of that, the Dolphins are reportedly concerned he can't hack the short yardage role they'd like him to run. He had some knee surgery last January, which might had contributed to some of his struggles but not enough to give him a pass on a lackluster 2012. With Mike Gillislee just drafted and Lamar Miller's burgeoning role in the offense, Thomas could struggle to even make the roster. If he does make it, expect limited carries unless he can show more consistent production in camp.

</tbody>
Randall Cobb - In only his second NFL season, as essentially the #4 wide receiver on the team, Randall Cobb had a breakout season, posting almost 1100 yards receiving and eight touchdowns. With Greg Jennings in Minnesota and Donald Driver retired, Cobb is will be on the field for almost every offensive play that Green Bay runs this season. Cobb is a dangerous guy with the ball in his hands, and he's a big play threat that the Packers love to use in different ways. If he can post WR17 fantasy stats as a #4, imagine how well he'll do as an every down player.
A.J. Green - In 2011, A.J. Green had a remarkable rookie season in which he caught 65 passes for 1,057 yards, and seven touchdowns. All of that came with a rookie quarterback who was learning on the job just as Green was. In 2012, both Green and his quarterback - Andy Dalton - showed progress. Green caught 97 passes for 1,350 yards, and 11 touchdowns, putting his numbers in the "elite" category (a place where his athleticism, size, and skills already were). Green's size, speed, leaping ability, and hands are a rare combination. As Dalton grows, the offensive burden will shift more and more towards the passing game, making the sky the limit for what Green can do.
T.Y. Hilton - T.Y. Hilton was one of the bigger rookie surprises in the league last year. He managed to score seven touchdowns on 50 receptions, but more importantly surpassed 100 yards receiving in five different games. At 5-foot-10, 183 pounds, he isn't an imposing physical threat, however he does have excellent speed, good run after the catch skills and he can be a deep threat. The early indication is that the Colts will line up Darrius Heyward-Bey opposite Reggie Wayne, but there is also talk that Hilton will battle for the job outright, if not be in a platoon. Hilton has shown that he can be successful in the slot or out wide. He should be able to earn plenty of snaps regardless of where he's lined up.
Cecil Shorts - Cecil Shorts is the type of player that always gets overlooked throughout his football career but never gets discouraged. The Jaguars drafted him in the fourth round out of Mount Union in 2011, and used him sparingly in his rookie season. Now 2012 rolls around and Shorts puts up outstanding numbers with 55 receptions, 979 receiving yards, and 7 touchdowns in 14 games. Shorts is the type of player that takes pride in proving people wrong by his strong athletic ability and play on the field. With the suspension to Justin Blackmon, Shorts will be counted on even more when the Jaguars open up their 2013 season. Shorts was outstanding down the stretch for the Jaguars posting 523 yards and 4 touchdowns (and 60 targets) in his last 6 games before being placed on the injured reserve (concussion) for the Jaguars final 2 games.
Kenny Stills - Kenny Stills, a rookie was drafted as the 17th wide receiver this year in the fifth round. He was a four star recruit out of high school, started immediately for Oklahoma and was productive in all three seasons that he played, declaring for the NFL draft after his junior year. Stills improved each year and had 204 career receptions for 2,595 yards and 24 TDs. He is a good athlete with decent quickness and some speed, but lacks thickness, weighing only 194 pounds and standing six feet tall. Stills has been efficient playing with the first team while Colston has been out and seems to have similar route running skills as Lance Moore.
PlayerRecYDY/RecTDFPTRank
Vernon Davis6177512.77119.56
Fred Davis5161212.0591.212

<tbody style="box-sizing: border-box;">
</tbody>
Fred Davis - Fred Davis is held in high regard in spite of modest statistical success. You would think Davis based on his reputation that Davis was in the same stratosphere as Aaron Hernandez and Jimmy Graham, but he's been far less consistent. Last year Davis played only seven games (24 receptions for 325 yards) after suffering a torn Achilles. The Redskins have maintained Davis' importance to the team, but a torn Achilles is no small matter. Davis signed a one-year $2.5mm deal in a "prove it" year, and if healthy will be one of Robert Griffin's top targets. Davis has freakish size and athleticism, but is not yet a precise route runner nor is he explosive with the ball in his hands. The season, and in fact his career, can go in many directions from here, and the onus is on Davis to determine whether he's the star some believe him to be.
Vernon Davis - Vernon Davis, the 49ers' first-round pick in 2006, is a supremely talented athlete. He is very fast and very strong. But from a fantasy standpoint, from season to season and from week to week, it is hard to know exactly how Davis will be used. Throughout his career, he has bounced around from a high-end fantasy TE1 to a low-end fantasy TE2, and everywhere in between. At times Davis is the focal point of the passing offense, and at times he is kept in to block. Even after Kaepernick took over at quarterback last season, Davis had some fantastic weeks followed by dismal weeks followed by some fantasic weeks again. Given his huge upside potential, he will be drafted as a mid-tier TE1; but his volatility puts him solidly below the top tier.
PlayerFGMFGAXPMXPAFPTRank
Phil Dawson27324545126.05

<tbody style="box-sizing: border-box;">
</tbody>
Phil Dawson - After four years at or near the bottom of the rankings in kicker scoring opportunities, the 49ers shot up to number one in 2011 and number two last year. That should provide a significant fantasy boost to free agent acquisition Dawson, who typically saw limited scoring opportunities during his 14 years with the Browns. Candlestick Park is not the most kicker friendly stadium, but then again neither was Cleveland's. Dawson comes off perhaps his best season ever - missing only twice and one of those was blocked. He made seven field goals of 50+ yards in both of the past two seasons. He'll now be working with holder/punter Andy Lee and long snapper Brian Jennings. The key coaching staff members remain intact from last year, boding well for Dawson's kicking opportunities.
PlayerSackFRINTTDYd/GPt/GFPTRank
Arizona Cardinals381117535022.5135.410

<tbody style="box-sizing: border-box;">
</tbody>
Arizona Cardinals - The biggest news here is the loss of defensive coordinator Ray Horton. Horton was fairly close to getting the head coaching gig in the offseason, but he was passed over in favor of Bruce Arians. After the snub, there was no chance the Cardinals would be able to retain Horton, and he was off to Cleveland. Left behind is a talented group led by Pro Bowl linebacker Daryl Washington. Washington, however, won't be on field for the first four games after being suspended under the NFL's substance abuse policy. He could also miss additional time after a May arrest on a domestic abuse charge. His absence will not help the Cardinals improve upon a bottom-five run defense which was often battered by opposing running backs. On the other hand, Arizona was fifth best in pass defense in 2012. That secondary has been completely retooled, however, as starting safeties Adrian Wilson and Kerry Rhodes have been replaced by Yeremiah Bell and Rashad Johnson. This is not an improvement. Bringing in Todd Bowles from Philadelphia is a bit of a head-scratcher. With the Eagles in 2012, Bowles' defense was far from impressive. Fantasy speaking, this group is not a defense you want to count on every week - even most weeks. At best, they will be a marginal fantasy starter and could easily regress a good deal in 2013.

Jaguars | Cecil Shorts will play in preseason game - Jacksonville Jaguars WR Cecil Shorts (calf) will play in the team's third preseason game. Sat Aug 24, 06:35 PM [Link to story]

Our view: We'll see Shorts work with veteran QB Chad Henne since Blaine Gabbert is going to miss the rest of the preseason with a thumb injury. Shorts could be a nice fantasy value at WR30 (7.10) in 12 team PPR leagues.

<tbody style="box-sizing: border-box;">
</tbody>

Packers | Randall Cobb scratched - Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb (biceps) will not play in the team's preseason game Friday, Aug. 23. Fri Aug 23, 07:00 PM [Link to story]

Our view: Our Dr. Jene Bramel doesn't think that Cobb has a serious tear in the area around the muscle, but the issue is still troubling enough to knock Cobb down to the bottom of the wide receiver tier that goes around the third/fourth-round turn in 12 team leagues.

<tbody style="box-sizing: border-box;">
</tbody>

Texans | Arian Foster fully practices - Houston Texans RB Arian Foster fully participated in practice Friday, Aug. 22, and did well, according to head coach Gary Kubiak. Fri Aug 23, 02:03 PM [Link to story]

Our view: Foster is still a tough sell in the top five, but this is good news if you want to scoop him at a discount near the turn. If he can get through a week of practice without incident, he might be worth a top 10 pick again.

<tbody style="box-sizing: border-box;">
</tbody>

Broncos | RBs struggling - Denver Broncos RB Ronnie Hillman has gained 2.7 yards per carry this preseason and fumbled on the goal line in their preseason game last week. RB Montee Ball has a 3.4-yards-per-carry average, but he missed a block in pass protection that led to a big hit on QB Peyton Manning. Fri Aug 23, 10:30 AM [Link to story]

Our view: Knowshon Moreno may end up being the most valuable fantasy running back in Denver yet again, although the reality is that none of them will have consistent fantasy value.

<tbody style="box-sizing: border-box;">
</tbody>

Jets | Chris Ivory expected to get more time - New York Jets RB Chris Ivory is expected to receive more playing time in the third preseason game based on his practice reps this week. Ivory had only six carries for 13 yards in the team's second preseason game. Thu Aug 22, 05:14 PM [Link to story]

Our view: The team wants Ivory to be their lead back but will make sure to monitor his health status. Ivory is a talented runner but has been setback by injuries during his pro career. Backup Bilal Powell has shown better burst and decisiveness this year in the preseason. They could use a RBBC featuring Ivory and Powell in 2013.

<tbody style="box-sizing: border-box;">
</tbody>

Texans | Arian Foster increases reps in practice - Houston Texans RB Arian Foster (back, calf) doubled his workload in practice Thursday, Aug. 22; going from 10 reps to 20 reps. Foster is not expected to play in the team's third preseason game. Thu Aug 22, 02:51 PM [Link to story]

Our view: We likely won't see Foster at all this preseason. He's a mid-round first-round pick who comes with some durability questions after an offseason spent missing time with a calf and then back injury.

<tbody style="box-sizing: border-box;">

Texans | Arian Foster vows to be ready for Week 1 - Houston Texans RB Arian Foster (back, calf) said Wednesday, Aug. 21, that he will be ready for the regular season opener Monday, Sept. 9, against the San Diego Chargers. 'Yeah, I'll be ready,' Foster said. Wed Aug 21, 11:36 PM [Link to story]

Our view: Foster is unlikely to get any work in the preseason as he was just activated off the PUP list on Wednesday. Fantasy owners would feel better if they could see him in action before the start of the season. Some feel he might be used up after a heavy workload over the last three years. Despite these injury concerns Foster should be at worst a mid first-round pick in most fantasy leagues.

Dolphins | Starting RB job open - The Miami Dolphins are not naming a starting running back between RBs Lamar Miller and Daniel Thomas just two weeks from Week 1. Both Miller and Thomas took first-team snaps during 11-on-11 drills Wednesday, Aug. 21, and Miller had nine snaps with the first-team offense Monday, Aug. 19. Thomas hasn't started a game in the preseason but got 12 snaps Monday and is pushing for the starting job. 'They're both very young. They don't have a lot of snaps in them just yet. But they both have a chance to be good running backs in this league and see how far they can go. I'd rather have two good ones than one, put it that way.' Miller has failed to separate himself from Thomas and prove he deserves the job. Miller fumbled in the preseason opener and dropped a crucial third-down pass last weekend. Wed Aug 21, 04:49 PM [Link to story]

Our view: This is not what Lamar Miller's fantasy owners wanted to hear, especially as we're in week three of the preseason. This news should drop his ADP somewhat. Currently Miller is going off the board at RB20 (3.07) in 12 team PPR leagues. Thomas is coming off the board much later at RB61 (13.05).

I'm sure everyone is already looking at their roster and wishing they could improve it in certain areas.

So let's start hearing the trade-talk guys....:grandmais

Can somebody explain the waivers to me. I have the number 2 pick. Is that for the week following week 1 games? If I make a free agent pick this week will that push me down?

Does anyone know if there is a way to have all league 'transactions' emailed automatically to you? I didn't see a way to do this.

Anyone know if this is possible?

Also, any transactions we make up until game 1 on Thursday night won't effect our waiver position?

getting e-mails - that would be nice, i am in a league on another site where you can get these - didnt see it anywhere in yahoo for options though

Waiver position is affected when you pick someone up off of waivers... if they are just a free agent it doesnt affect waivers
