Willie can you explain this to a non-American

It increases costs, not deceases
this would be obvious to me, you can't provide something that a lot of people don't have without putting $ into it

It increases the deficit, not decreases
same as above......but I didnt think the goal of this was to decrease the deficit so it would be irrelevant.

The proposals in Congress evolve into single payer plans, and Obama has said he believes a single payer plan is best, but democrats deny such
what is a 'single payer plan' , I tried to look it up but the results show up a huge amount of 'variations' of the same thing

The proposals implement care restrictions by design and by necessity, democrats deny it
are these restrictions as to the coverage of the plan regarding specific conditions or a restriction to a coverage /year in terms of $?

The existing health care in the USA is excellent, but democrats trash it
from the 'outside' the quality I am sure it is, as long as you are covered...my question is, what happens when you somehow lose your coverage? what can you do to prevent that? say that I end up in a job that doesn't have health care benefits? then WHAT exactly happens?

I imagine that I get sick>>>lose my job>>>> now what? I lost my job because of my illness....now I have no coverage.....who is going to insure me even if I want to pay? how much would it cost??

the overwhelming majority of Americans are happy with their existing health care services, but democrats misrepresent that fact
I am sure that the majority is , however there is a sizable percentage that doesn't have any coverage.....and another one that for x,y,z reason end up travelling abroad to get it.....now WHY would you ......the citizen of the 'most powerful/awesome/incredible/second to none/blessed by God blabla' nation....have to travel to a 3rd world country to get certain treatments , what logic is there?

at the end of the day, covering more people, reducing costs, limiting income and limiting profits are all incompatible with improving health care quality. To believe such is naive.
I imagine that the ones that have no coverage now.......would prefer to have some coverage there by improving healthcare from non-existent to 'something' ?

the polls clearly show Americans do not want the existing proposed plans, but democrats are in denial
that appears to be quite true from the outside

Thanks in advance for any insight you can provide

Admittedly, his essay fizzles out a bit when he runs that paragraph+ pretty much saying that the bulk of American health care issues could be resolved if more people just shopped at WholeFoodsMarket

The suggestion I most applaud is that we allow Americans to buy health care insurance from any company in the country and that all benefits and coverage remains continuous even when you change location.

Obama and his supporters claim their proposals will decrease costs, but the CBO says otherwise

Obama and his supporters claim their proposals will reduce the deficit, but the CBO says it will increase the deficit significantly.

although Obama says he doesn't want a single payer (read government) plan, he has espoused one repeatedly throughout his career. The impact of the proposals in the house will be to funnel us into a single player plan. There are many estimates and studies out there, but suffice to say 10s of millions of Americans will lose their existing coverage fairly quickly.

to save costs, they have to implement restrictions, it's how socialized medicine works. It would also be consistent with Obama saying "we have too much healthcare, and it's bankrupting us". As for specifics, that's yet to be determined / released.

there are holes to be filled, I've said so on many an occasion, but I don't believe we need to dispose of a system which gives us health care on demand and which 80% of Americans are happy with. I'm thinking more along the lines of the OP.

LOL, medical vacations, cheaper costs and procedures not approved in the states. Kinda weak to try and justify Obamacare with that nonsense.
