Sources: Caitlin Clark off USA Basketball national team roster.

Caitlin Clark won't be headed to the Paris Olympics, a source told ESPN, confirming multiple reports.
Clark has international experience with USA Basketball at a younger level, but she wasn't able to make the national training camp in Cleveland after she was invited because she was leading Iowa to the Final Four. Clark finished her career as the NCAA's Division I career scoring leader.
Clark, now a rookie with the Indiana Fever, has drawn millions of new fans to women's basketball in her college career and also in her young WNBA career.
While Clark won't be headed to Paris, the United States is expected to take five-time gold medalist Diana Taurasi for a sixth Olympics. Taurasi, who will turn 42 on Tuesday, will be joined by Phoenix Mercury teammate Brittney Griner.
This will be Griner's first time playing internationally since she was detained in a Russian prison for 10 months in 2022. She said she'll play abroad only with USA Basketball.
Joining the pair will be Olympic veterans Breanna Stewart, A'ja Wilson, Napheesa Collier, Jewell Loyd and Chelsea Gray. Kelsey Plum and Jackie Young, who helped the U.S. win the inaugural 3x3 gold medal at the Tokyo Games in 2021, will also be on the team.
First-time Olympians are Alyssa Thomas, Sabrina Ionescu and Kahleah Copper. All three played on the American team that won the World Cup in Australia in 2022, though.
The U.S. women have won every gold medal in women's basketball since the 1996 Atlanta Olympics.
Taurasi will break the record for most Olympics played in the sport of basketball. Five players, including former teammate Sue Bird, have competed in five.
The U.S. team will get together to train for a few days in Phoenix in July. Then it's off to London for an exhibition game against Germany before heading to France.
The Americans will play Japan, Belgium and Germany in pool play at the Olympics.
The decision to leave Clark off the roster was first reported by The Athletic.

Mystics-Fever becomes highest-attended WNBA game since 2007.

The Washington Mystics saw a massive crowd at Capital One Arena on Friday, becoming the fifth-highest-attended regular season game in WNBA history.

WASHINGTON – A sold-out crowd filled up all the 20,333 seats of Capital One Arena on Friday night to see one of the biggest basketball games in Washington, D.C. this calendar year. Fans piled in to see the Washington Mystics host the Indiana Fever in what would become the highest-attended WNBA game since the 2007 WNBA Finals.
The draw for the evening was the marquee rookies who took the court. No. 1 overall draft pick Caitlin Clark continued her barnstorming tour across the league, having D.C. be her sixth road city to visit since joining the league. There’s also Mystics rookie Aaliyah Edwards who has her own crop of devout Connecticut Husky fans too, to boost her following and profile.

Brittney Griner, who wouldn't stand for the US National Anthem, made the team.

CBS is reporting that Caitlin Clark, the women’s basketball player in history, is being left off of the Olympic team.

A bunch of women basketball players who most people don’t even know will be representing the US Olympic team in Paris in 2024. Caitlin Clark will not be one of them.

Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark is expected to be left off the Team USA women’s basketball roster for the upcoming Summer Olympics in Paris, David Eickholt of 247Sports confirms.

USA Today’s Christine Brennan first reported shortly after midnight Saturday.

Clark became the college basketball all-time leading scorer earlier this year, and she is currently putting up some impressive numbers in the WNBA

In her first 14 games, she has averaged 16.8 points, 5.3 rebounds, 6.3 assists and 1.5 steals per game. She has also already put up two 30-point games — one of them being during the Fever’s 85-83 win over the Washington Mystics in which she reached a career-high seven 3-pointers. With that performance, Clark became the fastest rookie in WNBA history to record 200+ points and 50+ assists.

David Portnoy from Barstool Sports had this to say about the news:
All right. I’m at Saratoga Belmont Day. Looking spectacular, per usual shoes, bang. But this is about Caitlin Clark being left off the Olympic team. How dumb are these women? How dumb? I don’t know who’s making the decision, women’s Olympic Committee, whatever it is. I don’t care if you don’t think Caitlin Clark talent-wise belongs on this team, even though she does put up 37 to 13, like the most points in the history of the league for a rookie.

In total points scored this season, Clark is 7th in the WNBA. Only four women selected to the Olympic team are ahead of Clark

In scoring average per game Clark is 13th in the WNBA. Only 8 girls on the Olympic Team have game averages in scoring better than Clark (Wilson, Copper, Collier, Stewart, Lloyd, Plum, Young and Ionescu).

In three pointers made this season, Clark is second in the WNBA. No woman on the Olympic team has made more 3’s than Caitlin Clark!

In three pointers made per gamethis year in the WNBA, Clark is 4th in the league. Only two women on the Olympic team averaged more 3s made per game than Caitlin Clark (Plum and Taurasi).

In total assists to date this year in the WNBA, Clark is 3rd in the League. Only one woman on the Olympic team has more assists than Caitlin Clark this year (Thomas).

In assists per game this year in the WNBA, Clark is 4th in the WNBA. Only two woman on the Olympic team have more assists per game (Thomas and Young).

Despite these numbers and breaking nearly every scoring and assist record imaginable during her illustrious career at Iowa, Caitlin Clark is not on the Olympic team. This is a travesty.

Lol leading in most categories

Volume stats don't tell the whole story

She's shooting 32% from 3 point range. AKA she's shooting a shit ton of 3's per game despite her high amount of makes

She's averaging 5.6 turnovers per game. That is atrocious for any level of basketball.

She's on pace to smash the single season turnover record.
