well they did not accept my offer and was told they wanted to wait for a higher offer. They didn't even want to counter offer. They want full list price. Fuck them they won't get it.

I really like the place, but there are plenty more out there in this price range.

Yeah I thought about the jinx thing too, but I also knew my offer was low. I just expected a counter. I have no problem looking around, this property is not going anywhere full list price.

On a more serious note, best of luck with the hunt. I have just started mine and it is a lot of work but exciting too.

Go back at $750K, waive your mortgage contingency and tell them you'll close in 30 days.

It is amazing how much information that is available to a potential home buyer to help with decisions. Years ago (pre-internet) it must have been pretty hard to find good deals. You really don't need agents or brokers anymore.

10 years from now when the property is worth $3m you wont give a fuck whether you paid $750K or $790K. Besides $40K over 30 years at 6% is about $200 a month so your mortgage will be $5200 instead of $5000 !!!

You will regret sticking to your guns on this one.

I am only Mortgaging half. 40k difference is 20k out of my bank. For 20 grand I do not mind shopping around in this market. There are literally thousands that meet my qualifications in the areas I would live.

YEAH funny, but we have been looking at houses and I allways ask for exact numbers (they always use the word estimated). The old and new taxes can very highly.



I'd guess 16 K taxes a year and 6 K insurance, (being consevative) plus some assessments.

Not to mention lawn and pool service (I'd assume it has one for that price).
