I think having a team named after you is something to be proud of. Washington would never have named themselves the Redskins if they thought it was derogatory. I say, embrace it. The Seattle times needs to spend their energy on something more productive IMO.

Following in the footsteps of the San Francisco newspapers, which stopped using "Redskins" a few years ago. Another attack on straight white males.

Does anyone really read newspapers anymore so you can be a day behind the rest of the world?........That seems like ancient times...

Sure, they have their own websites now, but newspapers become more and more irrelevant each year as anyone is capable of blogging and posting these days which makes a mockery of those older newspaper columns where the author thought their opinion spoke for the city and many people in the city......Now they are just "who" and rightfully so.
